GLOBAL WARMING

Recommended Posts

Well I never punched anyone in a ruck or a maul, GHA, firstly for the simple reason that, as you discovered, it doesn't hurt them enough.

Secondly, you look for protection from the referee and only if you don't get it do you have to do something about it. In those circumstances you want the other guy to know that it was you and enough is enough.

dunno about sending off.. ive dished some out but i dont think ive ever tried to seriously maim some one.. i should have been sin binned loads of time for ludicrous foul play but a lot of my rugby was pre sin bin .. my ball killing and turning of players in the tackle were the 2 parts of my game i was proudest off

I was indeed talking sub 100 metres in 8.5 seconds. Trust me, these blokes were fast

I reckon if you drop a 20-stoner off the top of a building, he could easily fo 100 metres in 8.5 seconds!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Anyway. This is rugby. Won't interrupt you again.

The fantastic difference between rugby and football. You can 'dish some out' in rugby and be perfectly within your rights, but poke someone in the eye in football and you're banned for years...

Anyway back to the weather

I like hot weather as long as it's sunny with a nice breeze, but like today when it's just hot and sticky I don't like it.

I like rain because its' relaxing to listen to and is cool to walk in.

I find winter funny because the whole country grinds to a halt - however I've never been caught up in snow miles from home, I should imagine that'll be a nightmare

Back to rugby. CANV, I myself have played both and watched both for many long years. It's simple. Rugby players are much tougher than footballers. There's no argument. Footballers can get pushed, and fall over. Would they do that on a Saturday night up town? No, they'd 'attempt' to fight back. Rugby players get pushed, they hit the bloke that pushed them. They get pushed by someone up town, they buy them a drink.

Hey CANV, your first post on this thread was spot on!

After doing a year of AS Biology I can tell you that many people don't realise that without natural Global Warming the average temperature on this planet would be in the minuses...We'd be living an Ice Age!

All this Photochemical Smog/CFCs/Greenhouse Gases stuff just leads to Enhanced Global Warming which is just a catalyst for what would be happening in a few hundred thousand years time anyway!!!

I'm no Physicist but I do know that our Summers will continue to get warmer and warmer for the next few millions...well as long as the Sun continues to grow actually! It's all down to Nuclear Fussion in the Sun's core - hence Radiation/Electromagnetic Spectrum blah, blah, blah...Also our Sun compared to many other stars in the Universe is relatively young. It's continuing to grow and expand in mass and size. Fortunately for us we will all be long dead before the Sun consumes our Planet.

Just think in 200,000,000 years time their could only be 5 planets in our Solar System and one f**k off big Sun!! Then like all things it will die. All this will happen over a course of billions of years though so we have nothing to fear at the minute...

As for Rugby, well I haven't played it for over a year and half now...only played it in PE lessons nothing serious, I was more of a Cricket Student myself. I do remember giving one of the little sh*ts in my year a good slash in the throat once though, (I still had the flesh under my finger-nails for at least a week afterwards! Bloody bugger to get rid of!) and breaking someones wrist with a ball. That's the only fun I had on the pitch!!!
