What can I add to the above? Good team display, with Paul Marks being given Man of the Match by the shortest of short heads from four or five other contestants. A special metion for Stuart Blackburne who, despite suffering from a virus, ran his socks off for 75 minutes only slightly below his best.

 

It was also nice to see Perry Burns at the game. He seemed very upbeat and is determined to return.

Praise where praise is due - and surely winning 3-0 away is when praise is due. Do not become complacent as football is a fickle game and can kick you when and where you least expect it - just ask Jose Reina!(or was that Darren Bent?)

A little harsh.

 

Yes we want trophies - the League being the only one that actually counts.

 

But, surely we can offer praise on a match by match basis - the last few performances have give all Town fans a little "hope" for the future.

 

It would be great if a few more bothered to turn up and watch / SUPPORT - 300 v Thurrock would be GREAT.

I believe in the adage - you are only as good as your last match.

 

So we beat Leyton a good performance no doubt but if we are to win the league those performances must be maintained week in week out. In other words it should not be exceptional.

 

It would all come undone if we loose on Saturday.

 

Another cliche "The league is a marathon - not a sprint." The win against Leyton was, to extend the metaphor, a nice burst of speed but we are only a quarter way through the season with another 17 miles to go - that burst of speed counts for little or nothing at the finishing line.

Here Here, wins also cover up cracks, and although we beat Leyton, the opposition were an athletic team which lacked quality.
