Parts of Blazing Saddles were very funny....

Not sure how we got here in a thread entitled "Leaking Too Many Goals", but what the hell let's run with it and see where we end up.

 

Time to open up the debate:

 

Monty Python - hilarious. Ditto other comedies without a 'point' (situation or satire for example) - Vic Reeves Big Night Out, The Fast Show.

Little Britain however = infantile garbage. Is this a reasonable point of view? Or am I just weird? (I know I am going to regret posting that......)

I thought it was just me that couldn't stand Little Britain!!!!!

 

I also can't watch The Simpsons or Family Guy or almost any of the cartoon ones except South Park.

 

For some reason some of the better comedy of the last few years has been hidden away on BBC3.

First series of Little Britain was excellent but then they went a bit too far. Have to say that the one show that really makes me laugh is Shooting Stars!!!

Monty python and the Goons were groundbreaking at the time,but they were 'of their time'..Don't think either have aged that well.Maybe because that sort of comedy has been copied and often bettered since..Although M.Python was sometimes funny and clever,it never made me laugh out loud,in the way 'Bottom's' infantile comedy did,or Vic and Bobs,or Harry Hill's.

Monty is not alone in aging badly.Even 80's comedies such as 'The Young Ones' suffer from the same fate.

 

For me,Sketch shows are an easier type of comedy to produce.Good sit coms are harder to get right..Give me the likes of 'Saxondale' or 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' any day of the week.

Agree about little B. Has never amused me in the slightest - not because it is infantile - i can do infantile humour as seen by my text jokes to you matey - and my roaring with laughter at the beachball goal last week.....LB just isn't funny!
