For me, it comes down to two. Andy Ford and John Keister. If Ford wants the job then we'd be daft to turn him away. But Keister is soon going to be stepping into management, and is sure to motivate people. The man will make a fine manager for someone.

I,m not sure why you want O'Connell Pagey. He has no managerial experience above the league he is in, the difference being vast. Once again Keister has no experience whatsoever so why should he be any good. Good players don't necessarily make good managers as we all know. I may be wrong about O'Connell but can the club afford to take yet another risk on a rookie manager. I would at least like to have seen him manage a team higher up the pyramid. We obviously don't know who will be applying, but I would think that there will be some high profile managers on the short list which have not been mentioned yet, for instance Alan Curbishly is still not with a club!!! lol

I'm pretty sure that if we played GWR tomorrow they would beat us. To take them to the top of the Ryman North is impressive. And they are only one step below us!

And if no one gives a manager a chance to manage at the next level up, how will there ever be a manager suitable to manager us? Some one has to take a "chance" - it just needs to be the right chance.

I think this is a long term decision, now we have a stronger Board we should look to appoint a Manager to take us out of this League and back towards the Conference. My choice is Andy Ford.

My arguments for this can be seen on my Blog (please have a look - it isn't full of testimonials telling you how great I am). Can I point you to the links below this post .

Nice Blog, well worth a read, take on board your comments regarding Borg, wonder if Phil will lend him another shirt :biglaugh:

Out of the mass of managers we've appointed in the past 20 years it's no coincidence that the most successful one by a mile was the one with the most non-league experience, and the only one who'd got a track record of success in non-league management. Whoever we appoint I just hope it's not somebody who's never managed before or who's never had any success as a non-league boss. Having said that I'm not totally convinced about Andy Ford's credentials - fair enough he got G&N promoted but that was a long while ago now and he hasn't done much since. Possibly a bit of a one season wonder at G&N although I must confess to not looking into it very deeply.
