What about the lowest crowd of the day in the Essex Senior League Gordon Brastead Memorial Trophy.....Just 29 turned up to watch 1893 loose 2-1 to Southend Manor just off the seafront..

5-0 loss to Bethnal Green

3-0 loss to London APSA

2-1 loss to Southend Manor

I have no axe to grind against the new club but its seems as though the wheels have fallen off somewhat this season. Next game - Table topping Sawbo visit Hertfordshire on Wednesday night.

What's this all about?

The wheels of our season came off last season but we now seem to be putting them back on.

My MOM - Dave Bastian.

Wonder who suggested on here this week about bringing Bastian back into the fold to fill the void at Left back? :snack:

Fair play to Dave.He worked hard and showed a good attitude whilst in the reserves and most importantly he stuck it out and fought to regain his place back.(when many others would have chucked in the towel and left the club.)

Short or selective memory LS, cos thats precisely what DB did last season, not only did he do that but felt he had to tour the supporters and personally announce it to each of us that he can't work with the present regime who had dropped him for a particular game. this despite a very good Marcel Mackay occupying the left back position and secondly DB's disciplinary record was appalling. Why did he not stay and fight for his place last season?

I do accept however that he has knuckled down and changed his attitude somewhat under Del and Steve but what happens when Darryl Ellams is fit again? I'd have ellams straight back in, I for one find it hard to forgive players who desert my club, undermine its managers and disregard the loyalty of supporters. Its not what we owe the players but its how they serve our club, move off that track and we'll be nothing more than a park team.

I don't think that being unable to work with the previous management was just down to him as they seemed only interested in bring in their own players to work with but we should be thankful that we have now moved on and take players at their value to us NOW!

I agree we should use those who have used us in the past. We (We=some supporter comments and not any one person, cos I know my comments get disected somewhat)also seem to build Dave Allen up too especially in higlighting his pace but ignore the fact he slices more clearances than slices in my regular loaf. However, he is another fella who refused to be a Sub in an away game that we supporters attended to cheer on our team, another attitude which is unforgiveable. The point i'm trying to make is we should not build certain players up too much as history has shown they quite easily treat us with the disrespect none of us deserve.

I think this is one area the new management have power an control over as the bulk of our squad are Steve and 'Del Boys' (excuse the punt) and i'm all for it being that way, which means we dont have player power as has been evident the last 2 season or so.

Roll on this evening, lets hope everyone is available and we get back to winning and scoring ways again.
