Windsor Rebel

Have you never heard the phrase “Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.” the lowest average attendance in the Conf south are 300ish. Lets say most teams take 30 away at that level on average meaning add 30 on to our current attendance. 'Only' Need 100 new fans. It wont be easy but there are some real positive things going on at the club off and on the pitch at the moment.

You look utterly pathetic making digs about crowds as do some windsor fans It's so so so boring. What next? Someone gets out the % showing burnham are the best supported club in the area followed by Windsor then slough on a per head ratio?

Not a dig but what's going on with the new ground? Not heard alot in the last few months. Has planning gone in yet and is the funding in place? These are not loaded questions just asking. Send it in a PM as it's off topic!

True, but we all know thats not going to happen, its just pie in the sky. Dont take my word for it, ask some of your own fans. When

i was there for the Paulton game I was told that that there is a lack of ambition by certain club members for WEFC to progress.

How can it be pie in the sky if no-one has even been told yet what is happening? The ones that do the moaning are probably the same ones that moaned about the 2 goals we let in against Slough at Stag Meadow last season when everyone else was celebrating the 6 we had scored, lifes' glass [for them] is always half-empty!

All I can say is there WILL be initiatives to improve our attendances, there WILL be initiatives to improve our income through advertising and other means and there WILL be a combined effort to make that step up - if the Private Frasers [we're all doomed] don't want to be part of it then so be it and if the initiatives do fail then it won't be through lack of effort on certain peoples' part!

Maybe you should be on the committee Woody, if you can come up with bright ideas, but you will have to change that disgusting

green sweatshirt you wear.

Someones riled!

Your really showing yourself up. Carry it on if you like but it's embarrasing!

WR, you were doing so well and then you come on with your same old atttitude. Windsor are almost exactly half way on the attendances, so average yes?

We have survived at the Conf South for approx 13 years previously and were also quite a feared non league entity before that and during part of that time.

Things come and go, we have averaged 350 to 450 in seasons gone past but it is driven by success, if we get success we WILL get more fans, maybe not straight away but eventually. It all takes time and effort,w e probably won't get a crowd over 400 in the league, but if we can grow it by the end of the year to get 200 down here more often than not then that is a success.

The club is on the way up at the moment, why don't you try and accept that and concentrate on helping Slough to move forwards rather tha spend your energy on slating Windsor.

I have to say you sometimes come up with interesting or amusing comments but to come on here just to be an agitant and cause annoyance is peurile and a bit sad.

Saturday should be a close game, here's hoping we can get a result with our new striker on display as well

Cheerio for now

Steve: I admire your enthusiasm, but things havent really changed for the last 10 years, it will be interesting to see if you can

implement your changes given the current financial and market conditions, not just within football but globally.

Ironically it's the current financial and market conditions that have brought about this wind of change.

Don't admire my enthusiasm though as I've always had it, the big difference now is that people are prepared to listen to ideas and help follow them through.

The biggest/hardest job to my mind is getting people to come through those gates on a Saturday afternoon as it's only a very small percentage of residents that attend games, although I think a major part of the problem is in people not even knowing we actually exist in the town. Therefore the first job is to get the name of Windsor & Eton FC bandied around town more and some new ideas to help with that are already on the burner. What we're talking about really though is a complete overhaul of the ways the club secures its' income as we've been lucky over the past ten years to have large revenue coming in from the likes of Wokingham, Slough and Bedfont Green which, to be honest, has made us a bit lazy in chasing other avenues of income. If everything comes to fruition then the club will have a very secure future whereas if it comes to nothing then we're back to where we are now but certainly no worse off so what is there to lose by trying.

I dont think money or crowds are the issue here - is it not Keith Scotts ambition to move up the ladder?

He went for the Wycombe job, so he is looking at managing at a higher level, as it has been seen that he has management ability by getting Windsor to the top end of the leauge recently, someone will come along and make him an offer he cant refuse!

What if he moves up the ladder to another club - what do Windsor do? He has been the main reason for recent success and will you then be able to replace him with the same callibre of manager? - there are alot out there who say they can do a good job, but most are full of hot air - Slough have found this out!

Looks like it is going to be an intresting season for both Slough and Windsor with both in the top quarter of their respective leauges and this year not having to fight each other!
