Challenge Trophy - 20/10 and 21/10

I'm not sorry he's gone though as the guy would have no doubt been pestering me 24/7 for information on Welwyn Garden City for his Don Revie type dossier.

Rhodes, dont you think it strange he left about the same time this draw was announced?

There was obviously more to his departure from WGC than his turning them around 360 deg, dont you think?

Keeps - Do you know Paul Tompkins, have you ever met him, I thought not so why get involved

Monkeymonkey8 - Well I can't see Aston Clinton continuing with their run now Paul Tompkins has left the Club despite Welwyn Garden City's current plight and embarrassing 6-2 defeat at Kentish Town on Saturday. I'm not sorry he's gone though as the guy would have no doubt been pestering me 24/7 for information on Welwyn Garden City for his Don Revie type dossier.

Sorry him being there would make no difference whether they win or lose as it was in the hillingdon game

It was pretty obvious from the initial question that Yam Yam doesn't know and was, therefore, trying to find out. That's why people ask questions. You of all people should know that. The big difference is that most people, when asked, will give an answer, unlike your good self.

If you know Paul Tompkins as well as you claim to then presumably you should be able to answer the question.

It is pretty rich of you to tell somebody not to get involved when you yourself manage to have your say on every possible thread, usually in a thinly veiled attempted to drag that thread round to your own agenda.

Paul is a very good manager............but that team at aston will carry on winning without him.........its the same with malcolm..........without being disrespectful and like i said to the players........it doesnt matter who is in charge!!.....they are good enough to win against welwyn on tuesday.......i would have thought good enough to win both division and divisional cup.

Things happen in football and people go there own way, its just a shame it didnt work out at aston for paul. He was back on the horse asap at codicote anyway....and will be back in this league not before long.

I think in time to come people will look back and think "we could have done this or that better" but this is life!

You can say that again and it's no coincidence that Codicote started to pull up trees as soon as Paul arrived

Monkey Monkey, well said however I do believe most of them players only play for Aston because Malcolm is there. I think if he left many would follow. He has built that team this year from when he took it over last year where they were languishing at the bottom of the division. I sometimes don't always agree with some of his decisions but then maybe I'm a little bias. And one for Rhodes, he wasn't that bothered about the Frenford loss as he had players carrying injuries. Oh and finally as far as I was aware the Hillingdon game did not involve Paul at all!!

The highlighted section could be a bit of a giveaway......

Perhaps it was the fact that he cites Welwyn Garden City and Aston Clinton as two of his favourite sides?

sorry to burst the tompkins bubble but im not him!

jojo

who are you by the way?

you must know as i do that most of the players are there because they are mates............i will agree with you on hillingdon.....paul was gone a good week before that game so he had nothing to do with him.

it was the coach who went to oxhey jets one night to scout hillingdons best players and tactics!

i understand rhodes loyalty to paul....think they have been friends for a while now....helping each out.

The frenford loss wasnt a big thing to aston................they have there hands full with other cups/division ect.

Monkey Monkey, just a player/onlooker . Have a look on the Berks and Bucks topic I have had to do some explaining to Rhodes on there as well!! Oh and by the way Rhodes, if Aston Clinton lose tonight against Welwyn which of course I hope they don't, it would not have made any difference what so ever if Paul Thompkins was there. If I see Malcom tonight depending on the whether and if I go, I must mention the chit chat going on on here.

Seems to me that PT is on downward spiral... SSML Prem to SSML 2 to Beds County......most impressive CV!

plus he now has a reputation of leaving teams in the lurch by your reasoning Rhodes

Keeps - How do you work that one out, like I said you don't know the man from adam and have never met him. Incidentally I heard on the grapevine that Baby Keeps is going through a bit of a rough time at Bowers & Pitsea at the moment and may be on his way out the door soon.

yes he is having a very rough time.....he doesnt like this windy and wet weather, messes his hair up

btw Rhodes, is there a grapevine that tells you how your kids are doing?

my grapevine tells me they are still wandering around different parts of the world, poncing, just like their father

You only have to look at welwyn and there present state to see that your comment above is untrue, they deep in the brown stuff amd that is with a thrid manager since paul!

He was in the process and turning the club around with no help from the club itself. If the chairman had handed out the cash instead of puting it in his pocket i dont think they would be where they are now!
