One of the biggest surprises of the season so far for me has been the form of Billericay-the wheels do seem to be coming off a bit.

 

I thought they would be play-off contenders-and whilst i still reckon they will' come good'-playoffs are probably out of their reach a bit-even now.

 

Not really followed them -but can't see why they are having such a difficult time at moment .

 

Latest i read is that top striker-JO Flack -wants to leave.

 

Now if he knew the way to the Isle of Thanet-their is a proper regular goal scoring striker well worth having

Michael, i too am quite shocked at how badly they are doing! I'd predicted they'd be nailed on for promotion at the end of the season as they were THE team bringing in the big boys pre-season. It must be demoralising and baffling for the fans of the club. They've not done the obvious and sacked the manager. Maybe it's a case of you can bring in big players, but it doesn't mean they can gel and play as a team?

It would seem that Jo has gone to the Urchins :frown:

More importantly, and accepting that others may also be similarly affected , Billericays (current) demise is separating me between 10th and 3rd position in the all important Cookies Prediction League.

 

Here here! I'm glad you brought it up Michael. I didn't want to kick them (Billericay) when they are down.....but if it wasn't for them i'd be flying too! I still can't quite bring myself to hope they'll win any time soon though.

 

We get the chance to re-predict halfway through the season i believe? Maybe Cookie will take pity and let us do it now? After all, we did make 'educated' predictions based on scientific calculations. It's not like we pulled teams names out of a hat! Or, can we expel Billericay for being so useless?? :icon29:

flacky comes from hornchurch so wants to play for his hometown club.

Hopefully this is the start of a revival for the urchins this season as we signed another 3 players yesterday and we looked good beating welling 5-1 in a friendly the other night,we really let ourselves down at your place and performances this season before that but although we lost to carshalton away the other week many said it was our best performance.We have been struggling with goals but the new additions will help this as will the return of super duper krissy lee after 8 months out

lol,in all honesty we were dissapointing at your place and did look like a team in trouble but new additions so far this season are promising,especially joe flack who has terrorised us a few times in recent years

 

We've done a bit of strengthening too. Plus with players coming back from suspension/injury i reckon we could 'ave ya! Let battle commence :boxing:

I would just like to point out the flaw in Gareth's and Michael's arguement re prediction league. I am sure others, myself included, tipped Billericay for better things so our scores too would improve :grin:

You are of course absolutely correct BGA.

Do you think that when you read my post , that is maybe why i qualified it by writing 'accepting that others may be similarly affected ?
