He certainly passed OK on Saturday for the time he was on the pitch plus linked up well with Jeremy Bordeau who came on wide right. It was the only time IMO we looked like scoring.

I mean no offence to anyone, but this forum spends alot of time preoccupied with the return / potential return of past players / managers etc. - nothing wrong with that, but I think it rarely works out that the same success can be found second time around.

Having said that, I don't feel that Dan Stubbs was with us long enough to be a cult hero and therefore fall in to this category, although he did excel most of the time in what he did within the team he was played.

I was and still am a fan. I don't think he is the answer to our lack of midfield on his own, but the sum of the parts etc etc.

What encourages me is his 100% effort all the time. If he can be coached well and played in position consistently, I believe his addition is valuable. Especially when I believe that there was frustration on his part at the lack of training and commitment last year (but that may be wrong - don't want to start rumours!)

I for one am dead pleased he returned.

All the skill in the world means nothing without commitment and Danny has that in spades, i for one would rather have players who care about this club than have a team of over-rated has-beens who couldn't give a toss.

I don't know what sort of football DEREK is expecting in this league but more often than not games are won by the team that works the hardest and never gives up, so i believe that Maidstones loss is our gain and was delighted to see him back.

Believe me players do not CARE about the club they play for, they only care about the pay packet each week, its always been the way and things will not change.

Didn't look like that when Lloyd celebrated his goal against Kingstonian, only need to see on some of the players Facebooks to see how much it means to them. Also I'm very glad you managed to find the Caps Lock button.

For someone who says his foes are "People who say bad things about MFC" Derek, you seem to have done pretty good in doing that yourself in the 12 posts you have made so far.

Just an observation :)

For the record I have been a supporter of MFC /TU since 1953 and have assisted this club both financially and physically more ways than most people know, I support no other team ( from my armchair) other than England, I also reserve the right to critisise whenever I feel the need, however i will defend the club should others say "bad things"about MY CLUB . By the way i have not said anything derogatory about MFC/TU just passed obsrevations about player(s)which I feel are justified.

I'm sorry Derek, but I think that is too sweeping a statement. I agree a lot of players are very mercenary, but with a usual career of 15-20 years maybe they can not be blamed for trying to earn every penny they can while they can. There are however players who are dedicated to their clubs, always have been and always will be. Off the top of my head without trying I would name players like Trevor Brooking at West Ham. I posted a thread to this effect maybe 3-4 weeks ago asking about 1 club players who stayed with margate. Admittedly there were not a lot, but I am indebted to Jeff Trice for his help.

I believe it is harder to have a 1 club player at non league level, but I dont believe that you can say that players dont caare about the clubs they play for.

I presume therefore that you know all of the players personally and they have told you that...

Or are you just bs.gif-ing??

OK I give in players do care about the club, Brian Clifton and Dai Yorath come and watch most matches.
