FA CUP 3rd Q Round

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to the Moles!! Is this the first time a SSML team has made it through to the 4th QR?? How about an away tie at Kenilworth Road in the next round or win the next round and play at Elland Road in the first round.

A fantastic win for Aylesbury. They really have benefitted from their once illustrious neighbours fall from favour. Good luck to them in The Cup and the 4th Qual draw will be very interesting indeed.

I saw the England match earlier on the internet and perhaps Aylesbury could provide a replacement for Rio Ferdinand? England couldn't do any worse frankly.

Congratulations Aylesbury - here's hoping for a long run in Cup and Vase (if only to hope they congest their fixtures and stem any march up the table!!!!)

Sorry Barmcake, already out of Vase so will soon be chasing your lot to retain that top spot.

Aw, gash! Shouldn't relly be so fearful, considering how confident we should be after our start, but to concede just one goal after eight league games must take some doing. And, regardless of budget (I'm hearing many figures, all eclipsing those of Biggleswade Town's apparent budget last season), you still need to get the players performing. I know any of our upcoming matches will be difficult ones.

Good luck in the Cup.

and what was Biggleswades apparent budget?

Note I said apparent, so I'm not treating what I heard as gospel, but I was hearing figures between £1,200 and £2,000 p/w for BT during last season. Reality probably was towards the lower end, maybe even lower, and I don't really expect to hear the real figure of either BT's or Aylesbury's budget in this, or any other, thread.

And, as I said, still got to get the players performing.

The bottom end of that is still a few hundred high.

I actually think it is opposition managers that dream up these fantasy budget figures to cover up for their own defficiances. You don't have to spend big to get out of Step 5 - unless you're in The Ridgeons!

Anyway this is about Aylesbury today. Once again well done.

Yeah, sorry. I was going to come back and take the figures away, and let Yam Yam know by PM what I'd heard, realising it might have been unfair to you to discuss figures so publicly - as it's late and it might not be read by many, I don't mind taking it off if you want.

And, as you say, let's keep the thread to Aylesbury. Sorry for the inadvertent tangent/hijack!

Congratulations Aylesbury on a great win :champis2: :drinkies:

But the big question - What would you take in the next draw????

a. A winable tie, with the hope of getting to the 1st round proper

b. The highest team possible (home/away?)

Very good and hard question. My preference would be to have a winnable tie, drawn at home but we all know winnable are also looseable, as all teams left have the motivation to continue to the 1st round proper.

I couldn't hazzard a guess as to what the club would prefer.
