Windsor 2 Taunton 1

Awful. Not at the races at all. Yet again too narrow, no spark going forward and Richardson battled more but had a nightmare. Shocking game, depressing even against a side so poor i'm sure The Great Old Windsor Tigers side of 98 could of beaten them ( I was a center Mid, The white paul ince was my nickname Scotty if your looking...) if taunton dont go down then this league is shocking!!

We'll need to improve a hell of a lot to win this leauge as i dont want to fanny about in the play offs again!! And next saturday IS there for the taking if we play better as they've not won in the league at home! Should be alot of us going too and we will be slightly loud too if you get the drift!!

Then again we've still not lost in the leauge so what do i know!? Keep up the good work lads?! :wtf:

Most of our players looked fairly good - Bruce for me was MOM, seemed to be everywhere, but Jake & Seeds were also effective. Chenns was either marked out of existence or playing so deep we had nothing up front... we need to keep service coming in. And I don't know why we didn't play Joe earlier, he showed their number 2 up easily when he did come on and given how often the guy cramped we'd effectively have been playing with an extra man.

Still, as you say, 2-1 is 2-1.

Meanwhile how much can England f*** this up... Ferdinand's a bloody liability and Cole's trying to do as badly. Oh well, at least it only took two minutes to find a free stream.

The problems are obvious to all, not flair player in the centre of the park (very good players, thought Seeds and bruce were superb) but no one to pick the ball up and turn the game. The final ball in was dire, and when it did come in no-one appeared to want to score, Marcus apparently freezing in front of goal and Wallo, just off teh bench and out to prove himself, lamely passing the ball at the keeper. Chens was marked out of the game as clearly our danger man, we just had so little penetration up front. As so many teams have already set up shop to contain us do we need a different gameplay maybe. But we are the only unbeaten team in the league, we are a few points off teh top and have more points than this point last year, and the league is, in my opinion no stronger than last year.

There could be a real battle for worst team of the year, Cinderford, Bracknell, Taunton and for those of us that went to see Bedfont Green last week, possibly them as well.

I guess if we keep winning, we can ask for no more

UTR and bring on next Saturday!!

Is there any news on the injury front? Williams and Cooper? Also, whats happenned to Andy Shed?

A good game today and a well earned win, Windsor played good football at times and were unlucky not to convert another 5 goals, final touch and vision let them down too often.

Obviously waiting for the rumours to start now of Keith Scott going to Wycombe, lets hope he stays to finish the fine job he has started at Windsor...

Shed gone for work reasons, apparently.

Be a big shame if Scotty went, but I don't think anyone could blame him. Total legend there, taking over a team at a decent level where he could turn it around and cement his legendary status. Personally don't think he is ready and managerially it could be a step too far, but who knows...

Also on today's performance, glad to see there was a referee to match the game, he was shocking both ways, obviously you only really notice the ones against your team but he was poor, and we have seen some poor ones!!

Our midfield looked good but not sure about the right back, and for heaven's sake can we please do something different from the throw in, long throw, near post, big defender, danger cleared, sound familiar?!?!?!

I agree that if we had put Joe on earlier we would have stretched them further and had better delivery from the left. Won't always be the right option but today thought it would have worked better.

Easy from the sidelines though isn't it...

Last week we didn't play very well and got lucky, this week we were just fortunate to be up against a poor side, however at the end of the day a win is a win and 3 points is all that matters.

Thought Wilson had another good game in the middle of the park, not sure if Taunton had made him down as a marked man and decided to dish him out some harsh treatment but he did seem to be on the end of some rather hefty challenges.

It does seem at the moment that the same 3 or 4 players are carrying the team week in week out. Its time others stepped up to the plate.

Not sure I agree with Fuzzy re the Referee. I thought he had a reasonably good game, he let the game flow and can't remember him making any bad decisions, although as it was such a bad game of football maybe I didn't notice his performance as much as I normally would.

Anyway lets stay positive….. were one point off top spot, we're the only undefeated team in the league, we had a decent FA cup run which brought in some additional money, we're still in the FA Trophy, we still have the best manager in the league, Chenns hasn't hit top form yet, the supporters club is off and running, The supporters darts team has been a success, sponsorship around the ground is picking up, the lucky number thing is a good idea, the FTSE has picked up again, The pound is getting strong again, the worst government since the last labour government will be out soon, Christmas is only just around the corner......all in all everything is looking up!

Well Mrs Cat, I agree totally with the stay positive note, but one thing about bringing my daughter along is I watch the game in a different way, from different perspectives and the tackles on some of our players were persistent and in a few cases disgusting. Borne out of frustration more than malice but still worrying that the ref never got hold of it. Had ot been against a team we needed to win against and didn't look so comfortable against I think a lot of people would have had a different view of the decisions during the match.

Don't they say something about teams looking to win the title have to have the ability to win games even when they are playing badly? Lets hope this is our bad patch.

Ah well, forward to AFC Hayes, another 3 points is all that matters, as i guess the pitch will be poor and the bins probably still full!!

Also next saturday is not only Mrs Cat's 'local' Stag do but also Spud's birthday drinks and they happen to be getting the same train as us! Could be a good one!! Not sure how we'll all be able to stand for 2 hours with the numbers coming but we'll give it a go!!!

Hmm, I have to disagree with quite a lot of what has gone before me...

I rather enjoyed the game.

We played more of a passing game than of late and but for some poor delivery from the wings and woeful finishing could have had a hatful.

I liked the ref (played the game with a smile on his face and made one or two amusing comments to us) and I didn't see anything particularly OTT in Taunton's challenges.

I really really want to see Marcus score a goal but he hasn't made a decent connection with an effort in all the games he has played so far, either with head or feet.

I think the problem is we are looking to win the league with a group of very talented players, we expect more than a 2-1 win over a very poor team at home. They could have snatched a late equaliser with a couple of chances and we can't let that happen. We looked very poor in front of goal and delivery was generally just as poor. We also got stretched at the back at times in the second half, a better team would have punished us.

As for the tackles, i saw a couple of particularly nasty off the ball chops that the ref saw and let go, in a higher tempo game it could have got very nasty. i fell it has to be mentioned when we win as if we do when we lose it is sour grapes, bad losers blah blah!!

I agree our midfield controlled the ball when we had it but we didn't really do much with it, and as I said we have some talented players who should do more with the time they were given.

Lets see what Tuesday brings, a freescoring game with a Chenns hat-trick and Scotty still in charge :icon29:
