Another ESL club in the hat for this fridays draw!

Well that was always going to be the case!!! Was at the Bowers game and I must say Gillam's performance was first class. I would say the best striker in the ESL by far.. Cant think of anyone else who could lace the boys boots.

Craig's strike partner didn't do too bad either last night. :futbolbud2:

So Portway is going to be playing

No really.. he's only gonna play in tough matches! grin.gif

Portway should not enter the field of play. He was a legend. Why ruin his reputation by trying to play ESL and get bossed every week due to his age, lack of fitness & pace. He is one of the greatest ESL strikers ever and I think for him to come back would be a big mistake and I believe Hullbridge Sports would be making an error by selecting this old man.

I reckon ports would still do a job aswell. If the ball was pinballing around in the box in the last minute and it dropped to a striker , there is no one other than him id rather it fall to

I would rather have Danny Heale than that carthorse Portway

With all due respect for Danny which i have got a lot of time for,Portway in over 20 years scored more than 400 goals at any level of the non league pyramid starting his career at Dagenham and playing for Walthamstow Avenue,B.Stortford,Brentwood,Witham,Borehamwood,Barking,Gravesend,Gloucester,Romford,Purfleet,Erith & Belvedere,Chelmsford and Burnham. He might be 41 now but as Deadbeat said he can still score goals at our level playing 20-30 minutes and bringing out the best of the forwards we have.As Onebreast said:if you need someone to smash that ball home in the 18yds box, then certainly he's the one.
