Am I missing something?

 

I ask this question because every so often its mentioned on here that certain people are not allowed to voice their opinion, and I just don’t see that. Am I blind to something?

This is how I see it.

Person A makes a posting to say, its black and I don’t like it…, Person B then answer saying … No A , you’re wrong, it’s white and I like it.

Just because A and B disagree, and both put forward their view, it doesn’t mean that one or the other is being told he can’t say its black or white.

A might not like that B is disagreeing and saying he’s wrong, but what’s wrong with that?

It seems to me that some people just bleat that they're are not allowed a voice every time someone disagrees with them.

I believe we have always encouraged people to voice their opinion, and if someone else disagrees and wants to argue the point, then so be it.

 

It would be pretty sad if A starts a thread of ‘Rice is better than sliced Bread’ and everyone agreed without challenge . With that kind of attitude we’d devolve in to monkeys, wouldn’t we?

 

Or am I wrong?….. let the arguing begin

Just joshing, TC. Thought it would be a luverly bit of irony for a thread extolling the virtues of our tolerance of all viewpoints to contain a censored post.

 

Have to agree with what you say though. People regularly describe disagreement as "censorship". If you're gonna express an opinion on a public forum you've got to be prepared for others to argue an alternative viewpoint. If you don't like that then you really shouldn't be posting.

I just googled mass hysteria, and you could be right Hatericay, and Im definitely not suffering from it.

 

So it was true, there 'have' been two identical poetic posts, and One 'was' edited and its content removed.
