Just written a full report and have lost it.

Dam, Blast and Bl**dy hell.

A draw would have been a fair result. If I have enough energy after tonights action pact game, which saw great football, hard tackling, and a punch up, stamping on Dan Lombardo countless late tackles most of which the Ref was oblivious to, I will write a report tomorrow.

sounds more like a brawl than a match. Have very heavy suspicions of lower leagues having so few referees willing to sign on and start now that they are havingf to make do with anyone they can get. Hope to get a report and thanks for the work blueblood.

You got the wrong end of the stick Free Fred. It was a great game full of good football played at great pace and with passion. It was a good old fashioned match, like the ones we used to see in TY's day, back before the game became sanitised by the PC/ health and safety brigade that seem to have infiltrated our society at all levels. As one of the managers shouted when the official in the middle pulled up the game for an iniquities foul. "It's supposed to be a contact sport Ref", the reply from the Deal bench was Where you been "it's a PC game know".

The "1st goal" was a penalty, the ref was the only person to see it, The Deal bench took the goal but couldn't see why it was given.

Deal had the better of the first 20 minutes but once settled the kids came into it and competed well. The 2nd Deal goal came from a error by a young keeper who is learning his trade.

2nd half saw the gate come out like a silver bullet out of a gun. I don't know what Phil Fennel and Winkle said to them but, they certainly had them fired up. Gate scored with in a few minutes of the whistle. Gate played some great football, one wing to the other. The Kids with only Charlie McCarthy over 19, were not phased by the more physical Deal side with an average age that must have been over 25, they competed tackle for tackle, no one was fazed, on occasion passions overflowed. There was a fraguar towards the end which the official was unaware of until he decided to take notice of where the players were going. He also missed the incident where someone tried to dig a hole with Dan Lombardo's head.

Deal scored there 3rd goal on the 89Th minute. one worthy of the word goal and one which without the ref and a mistake would have been a justifiable equaliser.

Unfortunatly when a game is played at this pace the man in the middle who is not usually in his prime and, as also been at work all day just cannot keep up with the pace of the game.

Thinking about it know, its a credit to our defence that Young Alex did not have a save to make, a few shots went wide, the Deal guy was definitely the busier.

My Thoughts and those of my 2 fellow gate followers, Ancient Blue and Alan Bonner were I think pretty much in line. Charlie McCarthy was again Man of the Match. Charlie was on his game very solid in defence and his distribution was also on the mark.

I have seen all the reserve games so far this season, I saw a bunch of kids take the field to play Deal in a friendly back in August and hold their first team squad to a draw. Those kids played football but were easily knocked of the ball. Last night i saw them fight for everything. They dug in and took no sh*t.

Well done lads Keep this up and someone is going to get the hiding of there lives as pretty soon.

Roll on Herne Bay, Hartsdown Park, Saturday at 3-00pm.

Does sound like a great game, my rant about refs was across the board, seems to be a lot of missed late tackles and bad decisions all round concerning teams in non league. But that doesn't detract from the fact it can still be a very good game of football which it sounds like it was. sorry rant over. Thanks for the report, greatly appreciated.
