Slough 1 Mangotsfield 1

Recommended Posts

Finished 1-1, O'Connor with ours in the second half after Jacko had misjudged a shot in the first half.

Weird game with first their man sent off for 2 nothing challenges, then Ryan Fenton (on for injured Danny Murphy) sent off in the second half, and just seconds after scoring O'Connor got a straight red.

Worst ref ever?

An off day today for us, but at least we grabbed a draw.

Got the draw in a very average game.

Fenton deserverd to get sent off for two stupid tackles within a couple of mins of each other.

However we now come to the "highlight" of the game - the ref!

I have never seen such incompetance from an official, he consistantly got decisions wrong for both teams and sent one player from each side off for totaly incorrect decisions.

The Mangotsfield player was the inocent party in the tackle that got him sent off and it should have been our player shown the yellow card.

Craig O'Connor was sent off for kicking the ball out of play. The ball was in play and no whistle had been blown and he was under pressure so put the ball out firmly - but the ref sent him off.

Unfortunately we have the same joker officiating on Tuesday.

I think if the assessor at the match has any common sense he will realise the Imbecile of a so called Referee isn't capable of reffing a man's match and relegate him to, at best, under 9's football.

Totally disgraceful performance from the moron.

Not the best of games, nor a good performance by Slough, particularly in the first half. That said the referee was extremely poor. 3 red cards in what wasn't a dirty game showed him to be out of his depth.

Even before any of the dismissals he was poor--Danny Murphy's injury resulted from a clear (if quite possibly unintentional) foul that left 2 players poleaxed. The ref didn't even notice and let play continue. As the physio's spent about 5 minutes on the pitch when play did stop it indicated he had no perception that a potententialy serious injury had occured. The Mangotsfield player did not deserve to be booked, and O'Connor, together with most fans thought the ball was in play for his sending off. The ref also missed a clear second half penalty, and couldn't keep up with play.

Is he really in charge of the replay?

The pitch seemed to be badly in need of watering, had an uneven bounce, and its hard surface quite possibly contributed to our injuries which are growing in numbers and do not bode well for the next few important games. With suspensions, our options may be very limited.

Got to say ..not the best game we have played ....and overall a fair result ...both teams just did not want to be out there..

Until we get some decent rain and Beaconsfield then can try to roll the pitch , sorry but we are stuck with it ! On wednesday , I heard that

the goal mouth at the club house end will be re turfed , hope this can solve at least one problem..

I don't need to comment on the referee...except to say we all have bad days ! and boy did he ! however I heard a few supporters say he had a good game and got most things right ! There you go we all have different views and make the game full of contraversity, maybe I need to get my eyes tested?

Do we know when the suspensions for O'Connor and Fenton will start and how bad are the injuries to Murphy and Edwards?

what went on out there ? it looked like we had had a roast lunch and had settled down to watch the footie on the telly.

though having said that i think that given a competant ref we would have probably shaded it, though those beasts are a rarity.

rebel and a saint i don't think oconnor got a straight red as i distinctly saw that man in black pertaining to be a football ref show craig the yellow immediately before, ah well so into the fray we go on tuesday night why can't we ever do it the easy way.

To be honest HT I didn't see the red card incident, as I was texting an update about the goal at the time, so I concede to those who actually saw what happened on that one! Just didn't remember him getting booked before.

And thats good news for both sides ! because if you were not there you would have all thought this was a very dirty game...

and it was never a dirt game...

In fact, a pretty clean game and hardly a bad tackle all night.

The thing the ref didn't allow for was the bone hard surface which caused the ball to bounce a lot, thereby prompting raised feet when trying to get it under control or vie for possession. Loads of fouls were for this type of "offence". In Craig O'Connor's case it was a red presumably for nearly taking out the oppo bench types who happened to be standing adjacent to the "offence" (belting the ball into touch).

A very strange game indeed. Just hope we can put out a side capable of winning tomorrow now!
