Neville (P.) - not good enough

Lampard (jr) - not good enough

Mills - didn't have the best of games

That offside decision - the worst I have ever seen unless he was flagging for a foul on the keeper

Their goal - that ####### David Seaman, he's crap, always letting in goals from 429 yards out, too old, should have retired years ago, legs are gone, someone fetch GHA quick

England playing around the country - the sooner the new Wembley comes about the better. I'm not a fan of them running around all over the place, Southampton one minute, Middlesborough the next. Why'd they get rid of the old Wembley anyway? The atmosphere's not there any more. It's not a travelling circus, it's our national team.

Shame there was no people on the pitch as well, EFMTFTV, where were you?

I agree with everything GHA says. Important (cos there aren't any easy competitive matches any more - witness Spain losing at home to Greece at the weekend) Euro 2004 qualifier, and they host it at... ummm... about the 13th best ground in the Premiership. Is there an anto-London bias? Let the proles see England before it all goes back to Wembley in 2005? Possibly. I'll say this - Gerrard, Owen, Rooney, Scholes, Neville etc etc - most of them - play in front of bigger crowds and in more intense atmospheres for their bread and butter Premiership matches than they saw for this England match tonight. If the difference between winning and losing could be the "extra man" that a passionate crowd produces, then England cut it mighty fine tonight. When Slovakia were cutting through the England defence tonight, the Middlesbrough crowd, no doubt silenced by decades of mediocre football, couldn't rise to the occasion and lift the team.

Simple answer. Get England to lodge at somewhere intimidating and noisy until Wembley is ready again (I'm open to suggestion on this - Old Trafford? Goodison Park? You tell me) and then decamp there back to the Empire Stadium and make it the scariest, most intimidating, noisiest, most hostile place in the world for a visiting team to play. What's the alternative? Carry on with the England freak show. If they carry on at this rate, they'll be groundsharing with Wimbledon at Milton Keynes in a year or so.

Like I said on my show yesterday "If you don't want violence at England games, don't take them to the North East"

But it was pretty rubbish.

I though Lampard did alright but as for Upson, Cole and Mills (3 of the defence) they are CRAP!!!!

Can you think of any other team in the world, club or country who would pick Upson ahead of Terry?
