Yam Yam - why not just refer people to the more efficient results service over on the main SSML forum?

In any case, some people may prefer the several hours wait until clip Rods can be bothered to cut and paste the results from Mitoo to here (without crediting the source, of course, but why change the habits of a lifetime?).

An anorak from another's Forum was at this one today:

Caddington 0-9 Berkhamsted

Spartan South Midlands 2nd Division

Admission: n/a

Programme: n/a

Tea: £1 (largish at least)

Attendance: 40

Another 9-0 away win this weekend. The Berkhamsted right back recognised me from a recent game at Amersham (catweazle will probably remember him), so a brief interruption to the usual sequence of handsakes.

Whilst an away win was probably expected, I was surprised to see it this comprehensive. Largely one way traffic throughout, with the visitors wasting several chances too. Took almost half an hour for the first to arrive, but wsa 5-0 by the break. Caddingtons best chance arrived between the 6th and 7th goals, but the visitors rarely looked threatened.

Ground itself boasts an impressive clubhouse. Not only is it large, with what looks to be a large function room off to one side, it's very clean and has some real ale on tap. Outside are plenty of picnic tables with a large barbecue. Pitch itself pretty basic with no cover. Railed on two sides, roped on the cricket side and no access behind one goal.

Well done to Sport London E Benfica on their first win of the season..long overdue!! Congratulations to special one and the team.

Hear hear, looking forward to the match report. Expect the inevitable twisted comments from a certain person but he's sucking lemons.

Many thanks to both of you. Deserved win with some of my old players back today. We were brilliant 1st half, Djibril Djalo especially so with his 2 goals. Ampthill's goalkeeper got sent off after he hand balled outside the area when our player was through on goal and got to the ball first.

2nd half was made interesting with the referee giving Ampthill a very dubious penalty to try and level things a bit despite the SLB keeper clearly clearing the ball before the Ampthill player ran into him.

Despite this, we controlled the game 2nd half, not as well as should have done, and killed the game by scoring a third with a shot on the edge of the area, from a corner, by José Dias. Or as Ampthill were calling him: The fat One!

In my opinion the Fat One was Man of the Match! May be the reason for the primary school name calling!

Haringey Borough 1-2 Hatfield Town

Another disappointing result for Haringey Borough, caused by road closures apparently:

FA VASE FIRST ROUND PROPER

Burnham Ramblers 1-2 Bedford

An anorak from another's Forum was at this excellent win for Bedford on Saturday:

Saturday 3rd October 2009 @3pm

FA Vase 1st Round

Burnham Ramblers v Bedford 1-2

@Leslie Field Stadium

Admission: £6

Programme: £1.50 (48pp)

Attendance: 58

Pie:£1

Soup: 60p

Picked Russell up at Greenhithe station to help him out with the engineering works on his line and made good time to Burnham on Crouch. The ground is located in the industrial area of town. The entrance to the ground is next to the main club building which encompasses all the facilities including a good fairly priced tea bar on the 1st floor. The seated stand is incorporated onto the back of the building. There is hard standing around the railed off pitch with a small 3 step concrete uncovered area behind one goal and standing cover on the far touchline between the 2 dugouts.

The game was evenly matched and the wind causing particular trouble with goal kicks not even close to reaching the half way line. This did encourage long range pot shots at the home keeper in the 1st half, 2 off which required good saves. Bedford took the lead before half time through their striker and Ramblers enjoyed the wind in their favour in the 2nd half and finally drew level through a penalty with 10 mins left. It looked like extra time until a breakaway from the visitors caught Ramblers out too far forward and slotted in the winner on 90 mins.
