DeHavilland folded because of the re-development of the British Aerospace sight and the football club were sold out by the comittee of the social club to the University developers. Promises of a pitch with floodlights were promised and then taken away just s long as the crown green bowlers got a first class playing surface.

Lots of success winning County Cups, league cups, and reserve division titles but when rumours of the club folding surfaced some of the players went to Potters Bar and the rest went accross to the newly reformed Hatfield Town, helping the latter into the Herts County Premier League.

Im impressed .

With you in goal at times . Remember that cup final when the now gaffer had that goal disallowed at 0-0 ? Could've been a different story had that goal stood ! Picture of that team still up in the Social club to this day . Loyal bunch Hatfield were in those days . Pals for life !!!!

Yes i remember, good times!! You would hope that you'd make friends for life, on reflection I have, but I can't speak for anyone else but being at Hatfield Town is a bit like the KGB-nobody is suppossed to leave and the minute you do leave and join somebody else, you're instantly an enemy of the state! Obviously I haven't helped myself by making comments but as anyone who has met me will testify i'm as irritating and relentless as Herpes (Which i've heard Mutu is being treated for again!!). I'm a fat, bored wind up merchant, this place is like a kid's playground for Michael Jackson!!

There are loads of decent, good people involved with Hatfield Town whom I have the utmost respect and fondness for. As for that Cup Final I seem to remember charging from my goal and missing the ball and player, probably costing us a real chance of victory - Costas Wonus they used to call me, amongst lots of other things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many Ruislip Manor fans did you bring to the new club?

I've been looking for an appropriate thread in relation to FoRM but Loosely's post above is relevant. I have it on good authority that a handful of former Ruislip Manor fans, who despicably turned their backs on Tokyngton Manor when the Club was reformed, have started following Wealdstone despite vowing never to set foot inside Grosvenor Vale again and one was even seen sporting 'a Stones' scarf as well as helping behind the bar on matchdays. If that's true I think it just about says it all.

Sjj2112 - How was your Christmas, I expect you were like a dog on heat waiting for Boxing Day so you could 'escape' and 'do a double', which two games did you get to.
