Browne looks to bring in Boot

All I can say is, I hope Booty sees the light and stays with us where he is a fan favourite alongside Sammy Winston. Plus, is he under contract?

From the interview with Browne.

"I am somebody with fresh ideas. I have come to Boreham Wood to try and bring the team some stability, and some success." <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I think he'll try and take quite a few with him to the Wood. Glad he's after Lee Harvey as that possibly rules out a bid for Steve Daly as he already has Gary Wotton there and more than likely Ricky Browne. So he probably has enough centre backs already,

I understand Booty reads this forum. Maybe he could let us know what he's thinking?

Don't go Booty!

If any of the players want to go, let them. For those who stay, we'll know they want to play for the club rather than the money.

I'd personally prefer Boot over Winston given the choice of one or the other anyhow, but I can understand why all the squad wouldn't want to come back given the fiasco of the last five years.

Did you see the number of players released in the non league paper this week.....plenty to go round....and we will see how may stay and how many go ! but..........will there get the money !!!!! Steve will never get the money he had at Slough , in as to money to get players there !!!

Boreham wood don't have the funds that had been available at Slough, even we know at thimes this was difficult , but that was because they were on fantastic money compared to other teams.....it is time to be wise and cut our cloth to our set budgets and no side deals as seams popular with many clubs ! including us here at Slough Town...

THIS MADNESS HAS GOT TO STOP......!!!!!

Players also need to want to Play for us too ! with a hand their own hearts that they are here to do their very best as our supporters do week in and week out supporting them !

Our supporters are amongest the best country wide ....after all it is hard to be a non league side playing in The Ryman league Div 1 and still able to motivate yourselves and travel to away matches to deepest darest spots in England....following a team that has had no luck or success for years now !

Truely magnificent supporters !!!!

so come on Slough Players having support like this should make you want to play for Slough , and the same time not fleece us for the priviledge....

cheers chris

The other and more obvious thing of course is, even if they take a 10-25% pay cut, thanks to our chairman's way of sorting out and paying money, they'll know they'll be getting what they're supposed to rather than waiting weeks on end with clouds of uncertainty hanging over whether they'll get paid or not.

I do believe that if the money situation was sorted and it was guarenteed that they would be paid an agreed amount each week on time, then some of them would be happy to stay on reduced terms. Whilst all this fuss over the ground continues, we can't even plan for a playing side for next season, and as a result, we'll be falling behind everyone else again by starting training late.

Browne won't be getting Lee Harvey - he's signed for Staines Town for the new season (so has Paul Ellis).

To be honest you can't expect many of the players who are free agents to hang-on to see what happens here - if they get a good offer they'd be foolish to turn it down.

I can't believe he's been allowed to sign Ricky Browne though - surely the word goes around the Rymans community and there are people at BHFC who know that in football terms he is a pathetic joke !
