Think you were watching a different game Cookie, Jermy went past their full back several times to the byline putting in dangerous crosses in the first half. As they say though people see a game in different ways, thats the beauty of football.

Well there you go. I must have missed that Alan. Germy WAS playing on the left wing in the first half wasn't he? I HAVE got the right player haven't I?

Sammy Cliffe took over that role later on & changed the game in our favour.

Thats encouraging and good to read.

I was not there so cannot comment-but simply ask what else did the player do to contribute apart from a few flashes down the wing ?

How often do people get carried away with a bit of ball skill, when the player could actually be alot more effective by passing well, tackling back, harrying other players, great positioning ensuring the opposition do not have space?

Do we sometimes get'blinded by 5 minutes of fancy footwork and the proverbial 'beat the full back' and forget that they did naff all for the other 85 minutes ?

As far as i recall you get points in the ryman for winning the game and not ball skillls and juggling;and games are more often than not won by the team who can win their individual physical battles.

It also becomes even tougher as the pitches deteriorate and tippy tappy ball skills become even less effective in the battle for points

Jeremy what i have seen of him is worth a a place in the first team, he has great feet and needs to my mind a run in the squad.

I've got no arguments with your comments. None whatsoever. Those starting last week will,I'm sure improve even further after their debuts.

You must be a closet Stoke fan, Michael - you clearly don't want to see entertaining football!

Appreciating that everybody has different needs and likes-you are absolutely correct-when it comes to Margate-i could not care less about entertaining football-i simply want to see them win -and frankly-don't care how its achieved.

Again-thats not for everyone, but its where my head is at .

As for Stoke-well anything above league one has no interest for me whatsoever, but i've read about these Stoke guys and like what i read-seems to me that you play to your strengths and do whatever it takes to achieve the win.
