Mr Piper

I have always been supportive of his efforts, mainly as I believe that you shouldn't call for the scrapping of plan A (Piper family control) without having a concrete plan B (viable alternative).

It may seem like it, but this isn't a 'Piper Out' thread. However, I know that most of you are alot more connected with the club than I, and maybe able to shed some light on the matter:

I understand that Mr Piper and family recently received and rejected out of hand an offer from Messrs Wallace and Levy (as well as one other noteable local businessman whose name wasn't referred to), in the form of a generous Piper family shares purchase, and that would ensure that the tax can be paid up immediately, the squad can be invested in by the new manager (surely an attractive recruitment point), and the Pipers would walk away with all they had ever invested.

That can either be taken as a sign of Mr Pipers certainty of good things to come, or of stubborness to admit 'defeat' in getting the club where he wanted (Conference with a 5,000+ capacity stadium etc). So at this point I'm still wondering if we'll ever see good times again.

i was always behind TY, but then I was always behind BA, RT and CK. Although there are numerous reasons why he went when he did, what strikes me is that he left honourably because he felt he lacked the skills needed to thrive in this league on these budgets - In no way a reflection on his world class skill & knowledge etc (in fact, a reinforcement of it).

For me, therein lies the problem. With the certainty that there now appears to be surrounding successfully paying HMRC, for me there needs to be a successful 2 stage offensive from KP:

1. Successful recruitment of a new manager (by that I mean one that is, in time, judged to have been successful - unlike RT, BA and sadly, TY by his own admission).

2. Tangible progress on delivering the new stadium.

Now there are no excuses. Anything less and he will be the man that did more to damage Margate than Jimmy Godden (allegedly)!

As a footnote, what further disappointed me was hearing the way he came accross on Radio Kent on Saturday - Shocking. What an advert for his club!! I'll add point 3. Hire a PR man!

The tax bill has been & will be paid in full by the appropriate time.

Investment HAS gone into the squad lately (that is clear) but I doubt it will have come from KPs pocket as I think he's already forked out more than enough to keep this club going. Now where's that "extra" coming from? I have sort of an idea as to where from but nothing concrete. Just an inkling.

Rumour has it also (over the week-end) that KP is now NOT the majority shareholder. Again I have an idea (another inkling) as to why this would be if indeed true.

Without the club informing us of whats going on for certain, officially, (not even a mention of the departure of WEST on the official) rumours are rife at present & will continue to be all the while us supporters aren't informed.

Who knows whats true or false.Who knows whats really happening behind the scenes. They do but we obviously don't but there are tell tale signs that "something" is going on.

With all that said I would be grateful, I'm sure we ALL would if KP would invite us all to a meeting to explain things to us more clearly. It certainly would help us understand things better & more clearly. Not to mention botching the many rumours that are circulating at present.

sounds like more than one person thinks there must be good things to come. If the piper family and another group are interested in investing this amount of money, surely they must be aware of something we are not as I cant see succesful business men sinking money into something with no future.

I must admit, this week has been fantastic for rumours. I think it was Cookie that said elsewhere that it had been a record day for them on Saturday and it seems to be continuing in the week.

The trouble is (and this is definitely not intended as a slur against ITH or his source) when there are this many rumours it is hard to take any of them other than with a pinch of salt until something becomes public. Having said that one of the rumours I heard was confirmed in the local paper today. Also, a story I have heard is not a million miles from the one about the shares although both elements of what ITH said and also what Cookie said were involved in various parts. That is the trouble though, as I have heard both stories already you can never tell which, if any, is true.

With regard to West being announced I will try to amend his profile on this Official Site this evening unless someone confirms that it is not true. The trouble is I have been hit by a superbly considerate Virus which has knocked out much of my software, rendered both my web browsers unusable (although I have now managed to get a copy of Google Chrome running via a complicated backdoor method!) and refuses to let me install anything new so I cannot even do anything to get rid of it at the moment. I will have to try to change the files manually in notepad and if I can I will also change TY's page at the same time. Then there is the matter of a programme to get to the printers tomorrow night!

The bit about West was in the local today Steve or maybe you saw it. Like Alan, I also heard about this last night too.

I did see it Tony. That was the one rumour that I heard on Saturday that has been announced but as I have not been told by the club I am wary of changing it on the site. I suppose I can risk taking that as official and make the change. Just 473 more rumours to be either proven or quashed!!!

just to note ty never left the club because of, quote, not up to the job,and lacked the skills to perform in this league, lets just say he was kicked in the [censored] for standing up for him self.

The same as Mr. Ashby then. For Piper the football has always been secondary to the development (and both of these are a f()cking joke). If he really cared he'd stand aside and let Wallace etc. bring back success to the club but he wants to earn bucks from the so called development. If you have a mind of your own he hates it, I should know having been warned not to say disparaging things on here but b()llocks to him free speech and all that. If this isn't a Piper Out thread it bloody well should be-we've been a joke for far too long now, a chaotic shambles.

PIPER OUT!

And I couldn't give a toss about his so called heavies and having my card marked as I and many others won't be back.

Just a quick thing, going back to ITH's original post. When you say Levy, do you mean Gary Lever who has been behind the plans to develop the ground? If so I am surprised but do believe he is already a shareholder. There is a local businessman called Harry Levy who's company makes the penny pusher machines you find in arcades. Maybe he is the one?

Also, I have got to say it, it is Gordon Wallis not Wallace!

Or maybe it's Daniel Levy of Spurs.

But surely Hornet ,if you had invested a figure that i am guessing is in excess of £250K of your money in something-would you just walk away ?

Would'nt you want to earn 'bucks' as well

To the best of my knowledge-Mr Piper is not a registered charity.

Most businesses (and indeed any individual homeowner ) view property as more important than the actual business they run/job they do. Your business/work generates daily cashflow, but most wealth-large or small- has always been generated via property.

Obviously modified somewhat in the last 2 years, but still true over the long term.

Its no different for any business,a football club or an individual where you try to work to enjoy a day to day living, but any real gains come from your property.

Why do you think it would be different with anyone else at MFC ?

Maybe other people would run the business/ football club better/maybe worse;but ultimately will be looking for a way to get a return on any investment they make.

On a much smaller scale, its no different to what is happens in the premiership. Its gone well for Arsenal, but bad at Newcastle
