Don't lets forget the Young keepers last night. Young Krunic had a solid game in the Canterbury goal.

He was in ours second half though Graeme and made a few good saves towards the end. Luke in goal in 1st half didnt really have much to do as we controlled it so much in that half.

I felt sorry for Cliff at the weekend. Come November he'll go in with a cold at half time if his skills are anymore under-utilised! Although on the other side of the coin, maybe he wasn't sure whether he should go looking for the ball - Thought he should try and be more vocal though - demand the ball more.

Sam is a great kid, 18 years old? and stalwart of our under 18 attack, he needs time to develope, not rushed in to to many 1st team games and to much pressure.

Youth players as you know progress year to year through the age groups, u5's to u6's etc, upto under 18's If they are mature enough as Sam was they will move on to the Reserves early(16) (At this moment our reserves must have an average age of around 17/18). On reaching the Reserves then the only possible moves are forward into the 1st team or move on to another club. To move into the 1st team players need to mature, they need a minimum of 3 years, 3 seasons of moving upto the fist team having the odd game, watching and hopefully learning from the bench, dropping back into the ressies for matches and as well as keeping up fitness levels practice, what skills they have picked up or by implementing ideas gleaned from observations made and knowledge gleaned from more senior personnel.

As the next years intake arrives the quantity of those joining the reserves will be dictated by spaces availible. If the coaches are doing their job properly then it should be no problem as more senior ressies should have been either, moved on(if not up to standard) or loaned out to Kl teams.

Sam is progressing well at the moment, do not put to much pressure on him, let him develope. We don't want to lose another great prospect to a cheap contract in the red never, never land.

My post was meant to be supportive of him, but I see with hindsight It may have seemed as though I appeared to be applying pressure for bigger performances from him, so apologies for that. I wholeheartedly agree with your comments, BB.

Hi both myself and Jason's grandad went along to last night's game and we were particulary the left footed nos 3, who I think was called George. Had to unfortunately go off with severe cramp in both legs. Anyhow we had a great evenings entertainment watching a lot of new, old and first team players. Great value for money.

Just a pity that the snack bar wasn't doing any food as we were looking forward to our burger and chips at half time only to be told there was a lack of staff. Other than that though was a great evening and there's no surcharge at these games for the seated areas which is great when your 80 years old Dad comes along with you to the game.

Thanks to all concerned who put on this great evenings entertainment.

Just couldn't understand why the ground wasn't full when I think of all the quality players on show!
