Jeremy Boreau

I see from the local that Jeremy is at last going to get a game. I have seen the guy train and his on the ball skills are class. I would call him velcro boots but that title is already held by another reserve player Jason McAree.

I saw ther 1st team game on Saturday and i was disapointed to see that Charlie McCarthy had been over looked for the squad again. Charlie has been awsome at the back for the ressies, unlike some I will not mention he can tackle, his free kicks are also good and varied.

I also would have dropped a very out of form midfielder and given Jason his chance, what was there to loose.

I hope young Luke will be given a game in goal tonight.

Great game tonight till a small tweak . He left the field has a precaution. Jeremy was a class above going forward, and put in some good crosses too.

But are they big and strong enough to cope with the physical Ryman league ?

we see it all the time-flying wingers looking great with sun on their backs on hard pitches-then are absolutely worthless on a wet tuesday night in essex.

Its sad but true that you need to be physical to succeed in the ryman league which is a massive step from Kent/Kent county reserve league standard opposition

Yes both are big and strong, believe me Michael. In Georges case he is British born but has Spanish blood in him too. Has spent last 7 years playing in Spain (inc Villareal) but of course he will need International clerance before he can play (Ken on ball as usual last night)

George Jeremy (though spelling may be different??) just to confuse things but the Frenchman (Jeremey Boreau) is signed already and, if no reaction to last nights injury, I think he may be in the squad for Saturday.

Yea it is a bit ITH but basically we have signed up Jeremey Boreau (French) who has been training with first team for a while to keep fit (Believe were waiting for work permit for him??). He plays wide right, good with both feet and looked great with crosses.

Also trialled a George Jeremy ( surname might be spelt differently) who has been playing in Spain last 7 years but no back here. He played wide right, extremely quick and also a good crosser ( I think he scored a goal too). Cant play him yet as needs international clearance (remember the AFC Wombles!!!)

Hope this helps

Don't we also have certian Sam Cliffe who many were championing a few weeks ago,who also play wide right.

(and Bernard-who others were lauding )

forgive my scepticism , but it seems this wide midfield/winger berth goes to the latest 'next best thing'.

A few years ago-Osman Sesay (worth £100K according to CK )

More recently-Robinson,Quain,Axon,Cliffe and now the latest is Boreau and then possibly George Jeremy.

I am sure eventually-one will stick-but it does to me that this position is a bit like a luxury fashion item.

Looks good in the shop, try it a couple of times and find out that all that glitters is not gold'and frankly, you can't afford the luxury and need something that gives you more everyday use.

Hope i am wrong, and Boreau is the real thing.

He will learn with experience I am sure, a very talented lad. That is one thing about Boreau he does go looking for the ball and can both inside and outside the players using either feet.

I felt sorry for Cliff at the weekend. Come November he'll go in with a cold at half time if his skills are anymore under-utilised! Although on the other side of the coin, maybe he wasn't sure whether he should go looking for the ball - Thought he should try and be more vocal though - demand the ball more.

Sam is a great kid, 18 years old? and stalwart of our under 18 attack, he needs time to develope, not rushed in to to many 1st team games and to much pressure.

Youth players as you know progress year to year through the age groups, u5's to u6's etc, upto under 18's If they are mature enough as Sam was they will move on to the Reserves early(16) (At this moment our reserves must have an average age of around 17/18). On reaching the Reserves then the only possible moves are forward into the 1st team or move on to another club. To move into the 1st team players need to mature, they need a minimum of 3 years, 3 seasons of moving upto the fist team having the odd game, watching and hopefully learning from the bench, dropping back into the ressies for matches and as well as keeping up fitness levels practice, what skills they have picked up or by implementing ideas gleaned from observations made and knowledge gleaned from more senior personnel.

As the next years intake arrives the quantity of those joining the reserves will be dictated by spaces availible. If the coaches are doing their job properly then it should be no problem as more senior ressies should have been either, moved on(if not up to standard) or loaned out to Kl teams.

Sam is progressing well at the moment, do not put to much pressure on him, let him develope. We don't want to lose another great prospect to a cheap contract in the red never, never land.
