Spencer did not have a simple injury. It took some time to actually diagnose his foot problem. No-one wanted to play more that him. it really frustrated him to sit in the stand each week.

I wasn't slagging him off, I said I thought he was a good player bar the injuries and it was a shame to see him go.

 

I know it wasn't a simple injury and it took ages to clear up but I thought in my opinion we should have kept him

Sorry TGE, have to disagree I'm afraid. Spence found it difficult to get fit again after that long out and had some setbacks along the way. No player does not want to play and just travel and sit there. What you might have heard is the frustration at a "wasted season" when we are a long time not playing this game. Spence is desperate to play again and is coming down pre season from what I know!

No idea who he is, but if he has had trouble a change of scenery, no matter how painful to change it, may be what he needs to get his career back on path.

I really hope Spence can get his career back on track because he was a quality player and always gave 110% for the cause.

I've always enjoyed watching Spencer play. He impressed me at Harrow before we signed him and he impressed me playing for us. Was the Aylesbury 6-1 his last game he played? He scored in that game too! A cracking curler from about two yards in from the touchline! Could've gone anywhere!!!

 

He done his hamstring late in that game and had to go off leaving us with 10 men as we'd used all our subs and I had spent a bloody hour standing in the burger bar queue as our 5th went in up the other end of the pitch!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

According to my programme, Spence's last game was the 2-2 draw against Purfleet but I don't remember him playing in that.

You are correct Spencer Knight (11) did play for 56 minutes and was replaced by Matt Jones. It was also the Sex God's 300th competitive game in a CIFC shirt!!
