under 15,s go out of cup

the go between

well i guess its not fair to " only sing when you winning " and having posted on all of the under 15,s last five great performances today i feel obliged to tell of our comprehensive defeat in the league cup . i have periodically over the last few weeks talked about the league cup being our lowest priority , behind the league and the kent cup and our performance today was a little below par in all areas, my fault , maybe a played it down too much . We did field a quite different team for long spells of the match and our visitors Welling United were excellent and very worthy 5-1 winners . it was only 2-1 with 15 to go so we pushed on and got ruthlessly exposed . only major positive was Callum Brooman scoring on his debut .

Good luck to Welling they are full of pace and whilst i think they could be shaky at the back, overall they were better than us today .

We spoke after the game about putting it behind us , as a win next weekend could take us to the top of the league .

On a more positive note i had the pleasure of watching the under 16,s v Ramsgate this morning and whilst not wishing to steal their thunder they were absolutely superb in the 2-1 victory . i think over the years this has been a difficult fixture for our lads but today they were very deserved winners over what is a good strong Ramsgate side . Well done to Martin Frewin and all his lads , you were quality .

Well done to the lads for another good effort - you cant win them all i suppose! :)

As for other results today: both our U12 teams won today - the Youth side beat Herne Bay 8-0 and the A side beat Faversham Town Juniors 3-2 :)

xx

many thanks again for the youth updates. I know some people may not appreciate them but it is very good to hear about all levels of the club, not just the first team, and hopefully some of our youth players will go on to be big players for us in the future like Sammy Cliffe, a young lad who always seems to do a good job for the first team.
