MFC 0, Urchins 0

Poor game between two poor sides, who will both surely be battling it out in the bottom five or six come the end of the season. Both teams could argue they had the chances to win the game. Urchins had 3 virtually unmarked headers and I'm not sure any of them hit the target. Really, all three should have been buried. Other than that, they created very little, and I was very impressed with JK in his sweeper role. Certainly made a difference to what has been a shaky defence so far this season.

Having said that, you wouldn't get two more gilt-edged chances than two we missed. Cracked the bar with a penalty (although maybe a bit of justice there as was never a penalty in my eyes) and West had an absolutely glorious chance about three yards out, yet he somehow contrived to miss the ball completely. Add into the equation our slightly harshly ruled out 'goal' for an infringement by Lewis, and you could say we were unlucky not to win the game. But, all in all, a point was probably the fair result; neither team really did enough to win the game.

Still think we're carrying too many passengers. We desperately need a centre-forward; West has done nothing to convince me yet, and yesterday certainly didn't help his cause. Who knows: with a centre-forward with a bit of confidence in front of goal, could certainly be celebrating a win right now.

Next week could be a tough, tough task.

Agree DM that Kingstonian will be a mammoth effort.

Having said that its up to the players to go out and prove that they are not reliant on Keister (and to a lesser extent Robinson);and that the other members of the squad can do it without them.

What better motivation can there be ?

couldn't make this game as i'd made the stupid mistake of telling the mrs that there was no football this weekend... however, i managed to get back home in time for the 2nd half where i stumbled across the link to the commentary via your website. very good commentator i thought even if he did go a bit mental when he thought you'd scored. he said it was a 'weak' penalty too (the decision not the execution). anyway, just wanted to say thanks and well done for the radio link and best of luck for the rest of the season except when you come to our place.

No-one has mentioned Kiteley much.

One assumes on a ( months ? ) loan. (is there a minimum period you can loan somebody for ?

Does anyone know where he is from-a new name for me ?

Some of his actions (running to the edge of the box to intercept a loose ball twice...being beaten once) were described by others nearby as 'have we signed another Mullins?'. Didn't really have much to do (like saving a testing shot. So don't really know how good he is. Physically he's a bit Southall-ish,though a bit taller than Nev.
