keith rowlands is back on scoring charts again after a season and a half out.... he got 2 in todays win vs langford, hanwell are starting to pick themselfs up now and hopefully can go on a good run.

I saw them at Chalfont a few weeks back, and from what I saw they won't be staying near the bottom for long.

FoRM saw an entertaining cup tie between Wingate & Finchley and Aylesbury. The home side probably just edged the game on goals-scoring opportunities and will be rueing missing some good chances when they led 2-1 to secure the game but Aylesbury worked hard to get an equaliser and looked to be denied a chance to win it when a very strong injury time penalty shout was turned down.

It's the first time FoRM have seen the new Aylesbury and despite the shock of going behing within 30 seconds they looked a more than useful outfit battling back to equalise with a couple of minutes and giving as good as they got for most of the first half. They actually looked the better side at the start of the second but Wingate scored a little against the tun of play and then should really have made the game safe before Aylseburys second equaliser.

Not sure when my next game of football will be as this was a very rare Saturday window for me

LATO - I see that you went local again. I spoke to the Wingate and Finchley Chairman after the game and he felt Wingate should have won convincingly so fair play to Aylesbury for taking them back to Haywood Way for a lucrative replay on Tuesday

It looks like it's the 'same old same old' at Coles Park and I wonder how long it's going to be before Tom Loizou throws his toys out of the pram:

Yes rhodes we went local as for very good reasons that are none of your business I was not available until 1.30 and therefore travel choices were limited. However as usual for you I notice you never replied to my point when I said that I have probably been further in the past to watch a game of football than you.

Well as you say it's none of my business, you possibly go to your local flea pit on Saturday mornings for all I know as some cinemas have special weekly viewings. Seeing how you have been to Poland to watch football then you have probably been further afield than me, the furthest I have been to watch a game is Marseille, Helsinki, Stockholm and Oslo but don't know how that compares in mileage terms to the delights of Warsaw, Katowice, Lodz, Wroclaw, Poznan or Chorzów.

I wish I knew as many towns in Poland as you rhodes!!

Actually I wasn't thinking of international football or even professional football. I was thinking of same day travel to watch a non league game. Speaking internationally though I have done a day trip to Warsaw to watch Polska v Kazhakstan

LATO - That's not such a big achievement nowadays with cheap airlines such as Easyjet, BMI and Ryannair, you would just need to get an early flight from Stansted, Gatwick or London City to one of these obscure airports 35 or 40 miles outside of Warsaw, albeit dressed up as Warsaw, bus in and then leave straight after the game to catch your return flight, for a 3.00 kick off it would be a piece of cake.

Rhodes, you are such a knob! If as you say you have been to Helsinki to specifically watch a game then you can claim bragging rights over LATO since your journey was 1100 miles each way compared with 900 to Warsaw.

But as you say, no big deal, there and back in the modern world in a day...unless of course you were in RhodesWorld and went by broomstick.

Loosely - You're a mind of information, I would have said that Warsaw was a lot further than Helsinki as the crow flies, to be fair though, and I don't have to admit to this, it wasn't specifically to watch a game. Whilst you're here why not give us all a 'fly on the wall' insight into Southill Alexander's preparations for the big game on Saturday away to 'the mighty' Riseley Sports, how many days a week do you train and where out of interest as strategically it must be difficult to bring all the players together for training from far and wide.

Rhodes, I wouldn't want to test the patience of SSML contributors with such off topic trivia, but since you are here, any pointers? Should we be getting in ringers? A supply of iron bars?

Trainings a bit ad hoc at the moment, sometimes we all meet up for a beer or two, we've started a smoking club up behind the turnstiles. Is that the sort of detail you were interested in? Anyway, thats what Sally and I get up to, couldn't tell you about the team though.

1 2 Haringey Borough v Oxhey Jets

An anorak from another's Forum was at Coles Park on Saturday and his brief report says it all really, I'd like to know what happened to 'Sugar's' wonderful plans that he submitted to Haringey Council, the glass fronted stand with the balcony with new dressing rooms and Clubhouse:

Spartan South Midlands League - Premier Division

Haringey Borough 1

(21)

Oxhey Jets 2

(20,60)

A well deserved win for Oxhey which would have been more emphatic had it not been for the Haringey keeper's outstanding display. As for the ground, it's a bit run down and has probably seen better days but is still worth a visit nonetheless

A groundhopper from the late, great another's Forum was at Coles Park on Saturday and his brief report sums up his enjoyment. I'm looking forward to the ground improvements that are planned there in the near future.

okay I flew BA from Heathrow as it was a late evening return, Warsaw Airport is about 6 miles from the city centre and the game was a 7.30 kick off (fun and games trying to get a taxi from the ground to the airport when you have a very tight window especially as the floodlights failed) but apart from that you are spot on as usual rhodes.

But you still never answered my point about same day travel and return for a non league game.
