Sam Berry - Industrious midfielder who signed for Hendon during the close season. Sam made his debut from the subs bench in the season's opener against Bognor Regis Town in the away league fixture. Previously with Harlow Town and Ware. (DOB 28th July 1986)

He's left us as he was surplus to requirements with injured players returning who were going to keep him out of the matchday squad.

I remember Hunt at Southend. Was a decent player who had a habit of scoring goals from long range.

Colin McBride, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club AFC Hornchurch, has completed the signing of two new players to strengthen his squad.

Joining the Urchins is vastly experienced midfielder Jonathan Hunt, who arrives from league rivals Harrow Borough, and the younger Sam Berry from another Ryman Premier outfit, Hendon.

Hunt actually started out in non-League football with the likes of St Albans City, Woking and Barnet, where he played under Barry Fry before being re-united with his boss at Southend in 1993.

He followed Fry again to Birmingham in 1994 and spent three years at St Andrews before moving onto Derby County.

Spells with Sheffield Utd, Cambridge United, Wimbledon and Peterborough followed before he re-joined St Albans last season, switching to Harrow where his former Barnet team-mate Dave Howell is manager, at the start of this season.

Berry, previously with Harlow Town and Ware, joined Hendon in July but was released last week after a number of injured players returned to the Greens` squad.
