Well you people who wanted him gone, he has.....

Yorath resigns

It is with regret that Margate Football Club announces the resignation of Terry Yorath as first team manager. Neville Southall will take charge of the side for Saturday’s visit of AFC Hornchurch.

Terry originally joined the club as Director of Football in June 2008. He subsequently took over as manager following the departure of Barry Ashby in October of that year. The club would like to put on record its thanks to Terry for his work at Margate.

A further announcement will be made about the manager’s position in due course

Great, back to square one...

At least our manager has the balls to resign Ian, unlike Wardy. Have also been informed that Colin McBride the Urchins manager has also resigned, how spooky!

I hope the moaners on here are now satisfied is all I can say, good luck Terry in whatever you chose to do!

How about an option from leftfield, big Nev carries on with the work he has been doing with T.Y. ?? How about sticking with what we have and minimizing disruption rather than bringing someone else in? Big Nev to manage with J.K. promoted to player/coach.

Can't see CK coming back. Why would he? He's got it pretty sweet at the moment as far as I'm aware. As disappointed as I am at TY's resignation, we have to start seeking a new manager now, or we really could be in the mire before we know it. I know Keister's been mentioned - along with others - but I personally think it's about time we went for an experience non-league manager who will know how to keep us in this division this season, and start to build a squad ready for promotion in perhaps 2 or 3 years time. We've tried the rookie novices (Trott, Ashby) and we tried the ex-Premier League star; now it's time for a non-league stalwart.

Borg, perhaps? Everyone loves to hate him, but did a pretty decent job at Braintree. Where's he these days? Or Jeff King. Think he's 'gone upstairs' at Chelmsford, but certainly a manager with non-league pedigree. And am I really going to be the first one to say it: what about Jim Ward....? Probably not going to be the first choice for many Margate fans, but you have to say that, on the whole, he's done a decent job with the scum. He must surely want to one day chance his arm at a club whose ambitions are more than the Ryman League. I can't see him being content with managing a pub team for too much longer.
