Attendance on saturday v Hornchurch

Last nights win;and todays news should help on saturday-hope there is plenty of MFC news in the paper on friday to accompany it.

In the main, good results will bring the attendances back a bit .

I'm particularly interested in the comparative attendances on saturday though, with Margate,Ramsgate and Whitstable all playing at home

Michael, I don't think the 5 supporters at Ramsgate will affect our attendance too much, lol!

I dont want to come across as a party pooper like, but something keeps rankling me with this fixture. It was changed from a Tuesday night to a Saturday. Correct me if i'm wrong (i'm sure you will), but i'm sure it's always more of an advantage for a home team on a Tuesday, even more so than a Saturday.

At the time it of making the decision to change the fixture it suited us to go along with it. Form was poor as we know. Now we've had a win. Confidence will be higher. If it was Tuesday night approaching, away team players having to have the extra hassle knocking off work and making a relatively long trip, getting to the ground in a fluster and all. Giving them the Saturday instead seems to me to be over generous in hind sight.

Don't get me wrong, us and Hornchurch fans have a good relationship. But, when it comes to taking the advantage in this cut throat football world, mates don't/shouldn't come into it.

I hope TY has made sure only the cold taps work in the showers in the home dressing room for Saturday :icon29:

Attendance 480

Score 2-1

We'd get a bigger crowd on a Saturday. Plus now you've got all the Champions League nights coming up and that definitely hits attendances at non-league level. As for the travelling, plenty of our players live/work in London so I'm not sure there is any advantage playing midweek.

That told me! Lol. Points i hadn't considered. Only the one thing i thought of, couldn't we have rearranged someone else? It's not like Hornchurch bring that many is it?

we're a bunch of p1ssheads who spend our entire weeks wages at a game of footy on a saturday.

I took it to extremes last year when i spent an entire months wages before, during and after the game in margate and then had to get my ageing father to pick me up at 1pm from a margate stewards house because i missed the last train home and ferry me home because my girlfriend had to be up at 7am to go on a motorcycle rally(she was with me and not happy, bless!)

I think the Urchins have a better following than most .Even if they only bring 30-50 that is still a good following when you consider they too are not doing so well. It's still a fair trek for them.
