its not all gloom , under 15,s March on

the go between

The under 15,s maintained there excellent start to the season with a dramatic victory in a thriller at the Marlowe Academy - Margate 5 - Real sixty 3 ;

The game had everything , goals , controversy , fight backs and a pulsating performance from the boys .

Margate began on top and had 2 or 3 half chances in the first 10 minutes before Real broke quickly and whilst our defence froze waiting for the ref to give their striker off side the Real striker simply carried on and smashed the ball home , the linesman flagged for what looked to be an obvious off side but the referee overuled and allowed the goal to stand . The rest of the first half was very evenly matched with Margate having just the better of it without actually creating any clear cut chances,

Margate came out for the second half with a great tempo and a long clearence from Josh Mattless in goal was slid past the advancing keeper with one deft touch from Shane Mitchell. Strike partner Trey Mitford then put us ahead with a quality precision finish and we were rampant . The next 10 minutes was largely Margate with our defence snuffing out any breaks by Real , then a turning point, the ref awarded Real a penalty when the ball bounced up and hit Connor Barham,s arm which was by his side , even Real looked a little embarressed that the penalty was given but obviously were very pleased to accept the gift. Margate looked a little dejected having worked so hard to get in front and they felt even worse a few minures later whe Real scored a goal right out of the top drawer , 5 great passes down their left hand side and a superb pinpoint cross and fantastic volley left us now 3-2 down and truth be told feeling a bit aggreived.

The last turnaround of the afternoon was sparked when from a corner from our left driven in by Daniel Gregory-Davis for twin brother Jamie to head over the keeper for 3 all .

15 minutes to go and all to play for, Tre Mitford then put us ahead with a follow up and cool finish after Jamie had hit the bar with an 18 yard drive and the game was put safe when Shane Mitchell lobbed the keeper following a poor defensive clearence .

It was a high octane game played in front of probably the best supported 2 teams in the league ( numerically ) and it means that we have now played 3 of last seasons top 4 teams and have taken 7 out of nine points .

The squad who never know when they are beaten was - Josh Mattless , Connor Barham , Nick Symaka , James Olver , Ollie Sharpe , Ryan Freedman , Captain Alex Miles , Jamie Gregory-Davis , Daniel Gregory-Davis , Tre` Mitford , Shane Mitchell , Daniel Osgood and Sam Reeves .

Footnote - Connor Armstrong stepped up to play for the under 16's today and aquitted himself well in their unfortunate 1-0 defeat to Maidstone United
