Probably a fair result. Neither side had much in the way of goalmouth chances. Not exactly a game for the purists! Paulton had a couple of decent chances but put one well wide and Rob made a good save to deny the other. Windsor also had a couple of chances, Chennells had a reasonably good chance just after half time but put the ball wide and Thomas hit the inside of the post in the closing minutes.

 

The first half was a rather dull affair; we looked a bit one dimensional and lacking in creativity. However it has to be said Paulton were just as bad in fact they were probably worse. Added to that the constant whinging coming from their bench every time anybody in a Windsor shirt had the audacity to put in a challenge or contest a header made it a half to forget.

 

Second half was a bit better as we seemed to be trying to play a bit more football, Wilson started to pull the strings in midfield and we started to get the ball out wide. Meanwhile the Paulton defenders seemed to be taking part in some sort of competition to see who could boot the most balls out of the ground. Maybe if the game had gone on for 5 more minutes we might have got the winner as we seemed to be well on top in the closing stages.

 

To be fair both teams can probably perform a lot better than they did yesterday. Going on the past couple of season’s form a draw away at Paulton isn't a bad result.

 

A couple of minor criticism’s if I may?? Firstly Dell's throws are obviously a potent weapon but must we use it every single time the ball goes out down the right hand side?, it seems a bit predictable, maybe mixing it up a bit might be more productive especially on pitches like Paulton's which looked quite wide. Secondly whenever we do use the long throw everybody seems to be attracted towards the ball at the near post, which leaves load of space in the middle and back posts but nobody ever seems to be there for the flick on.

 

As I said only minor criticisms, I'm sure the Colonel and Jim know what they are doing. They have got most things right so far.
