Its only the 21st of September, the 1st day of autumn. I have logged on for the 1st time in days, suprise, suprise already we have another season another glass is empty post from SS.

If certain people took the time to introduce themselves, talk to the people involved instead of running to the anonymity of the key board, then they would be aware of what the people, so unfairly attacked actually think.

Another season another attack.

Is the next one a bring back CK post.

FFS people keep blaming the players. Who chose these players? Whose job is it to motivate these players? Yep, the management and they can obviously only do it once every three to four games which is not good enough. We just aren't improving. Dare I say it but I think Terry and Nev are just along for the ride and it's all just a bit of fun for them. It's still all about the development (ha ha) and no one except for the fans care about the football. I know they're my fellow countrymen but I think they should pi$$ off back to Wales and let an experienced non league manager come in-but then as I stated previously-who in a position of power at the club really cares about the football side of it.

Margate F.C-the biggest fall from grace since Gary Glitter!

Sack the f()cking lot of 'em.

Patience!

With more time I'm sure TY will turn it round. It's not like we haven't had any good performances this season. There's been major squad changes already. I believe we need to give it another 6-8 weeks minimum before really assessing.

I agree with FB though, more players need to turn up to training. It's far from acceptable to have half the team not training with the rest.

I would also like to say that all the time Wilson plays in a four man midfield we're going to struggle! The bloke doesn't seem to know how to defend and everyone knows you need to defend from the front.

i was not the one who started the get rid of ck thread but if someone else hadnt i would have done.it is just my own opinion on seeing how the team have performed since ty took over ,to be honest they have been terrible for 3 years now as ce says which shows with the falling gates ,so its not just me.we used to have proper debates on this forum with lots of different views now there are just a few of us left those who can see something is wrong and those that cant .am i wrong to care what happens to a club i have been watchin sice i was a boy 45 years ago , but at the moment there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

I believe i can see the light ,whereas in previous seasons i could'nt,and have turned over a new leaf of optimism this season which is only 8 games old with over 100 points to play for still.

Whats more-we are only 4 points off mid table.

Mid table is where most of us expecvted to be ;so all season long we have to accept there will be lots more defeats and disappointing performances.

In fact-i reckon TY is feelin g it more than most-but it will come betterand good-not great this season-but good-and that will do for me.

I reckon TY still has his eye on play-offs so he should be encouraged and its possible (although a season early imo ).

I suspect those players were hurting badly on saturday-i don't know any of them-but i still reckon they all have pride and sportsmen want to win all of the time-sometimes-no matter what it just does not happen for you.

There is plenty of time .

It frequently happens that a club in bottom quartile at christmas ,surges to upper quartile in new year. That could well be margate this season.

On this thread early on-the go -between also posted some good stuff about what TY and NS do that goes un noticed.

When Ashby was dismissed, i had doubts about TY taking on the role-but the more i see and hear-the more support he gets from me.

This is a medium term project-the time to have concerns is if we are in the mire in mid january-until then-we just need to take the rough with the smooth-hard for all of us i agree-players, supporters, directors and managers alike-but we will be just fine and its promotion in 2010/11 season.

By which time we really could be cemented in the bottom four.

How many good performances have there been this season? Aveley and maybe the replay at Sutton (which I didn't see but I'll let you have that one). Not a good return from ten matches.

I'm not in favour of pulling the trigger now but I feel a less famous manager with a record of W2 D2 L6 from their opening ten matches would be under pressure.

As I said earlier, I can't argue with most of the players brought in, and most of those shipped out. But the performances just haven't been good enough. Players have responsibility for that, but so do the management.

Next two games will be very important. Both winnable but I'll take four points.

Fair points CE. I've got faith that TY is working bloody hard behind the scenes to add to the squad. Yes, we could be right in the mire by the end of November, but I'd much rather give Terry the chance to get it right than panic now. I think we're still carrying too many passengers in the starting eleven and from NS comments in the paper last week about targetting four players I believe they know this and are working hard on correcting it.

As i posted-lots of optimism from me and have a lot of faith that we are genuinely going in the right direction.

I am fearful of the next two games though-and not expecting much.

2 draws is best i'm hoping for ;which of course will lead to further outpourings of wrath (understandably ) but even if we lose both our next games-which is entirely feasible-i am still absolutely convinced that TY will get us to mimially mid table by seasons end;and probably better still.

There are alot of games left.

The difference is this season-we have got some foundations to build on;a squad that as it is-will be mid table-and thus every future improvement/tweeak will only make it better.

Did'nt NS recently say in the paper-it will take until christmans to see the real strength of thier work-i believe him.

For once in my life-i'm happy for them just to get on with it-they will do us proud i am convinced

There is never any good to come from so called fans slagging off players either on here or at a game. Yes forums are meant to be all about diverse opinions but true to life you get your pessimists and optimists. I'm sure that some (to quote BlueGate Alan) are "old enough to know better" and you find them at every match across the country and on every forum. They pay the entry fee and spend 90 minutes venting their spleens. That's not opinion, it's lack of control and ill breeding.

Gate's management duo are BIG names in football. They've been there and they've done it. We watch, we may have played at lower levels etc etc. We are not qualified to oppose the decisions they make as we are not in possession of the facts they have.

One thing we can all be sure of on here ----- Nothing will change. The pessimists will moan and moan about anything and everything. The optimists will see the good and keep hoping and never give that hope up.

Come on, we all know Gate haven't the finances other clubs do. We are 'lucky' to still be in the Premier division. It's preferable to be in it than the wilderness that is below. There is never a need to get personal, so lets pull our socks up and have a bit of decency.

Interesting point Gareth.

I meant to mention; that trusting all goes well with HMRC on or before the wekend; won't it be good to have that particular monkey off the clubs shoulders.

Its obviously resting heavily on the directorate-but has probably had an impact on TY/NS and indeed the players.

Now if the club passes with distinction on friday, and this one is finally laid to bed-i'm not suggesting for one minute that all will be sweetness and light financially-like the resat of the country-i'm sure the club has 'borroed forward' to pay HMRC off;but slowly but surely things may just improve on that front;and if nothing else-enable everyone to focus more on the football side of things and day to day cash flow-as opposed to staving off HMRC.

Psychologically-it may just provide a massive lift to everyone (lets hope there is no bad news-always dangerous to assume )

The finance thing confuses me a bit - although they're knocking on in years I can't believe that JK, Steve West and Jamie Lawrence come cheap and I'd put Paul Nicholls in the same category. So I don't understand how in theory we're on the brink of going out of business yet we can afford those kind of players.

Quite agree Jeff and with more profile players to come.. Who is paying the wages???

The thing is Geoff and Jeff, the club are damned by the fans if they don't shell out on some reasonable players, and damned if they don't.

I saw two passages of brilliant play on Saturday, that just has to be repeated more often then it will be a different story, keep faith with Terry and Nev . The squad have the ability and just need to deliver,so come on guys.

Some one is going to get a thrashing sometime soon.

It seems obvious to me that with these players all coming along at the same time that someone with money is hanging around the club...

And they need to be given time to gel, as some of you put it, because as they don't turn up to training, they don't get to know each other and how each other plays their game. That's part of the problem, they don't know what to expect of each other when they get the ball

we all have opinions, mine swing from optimistic to pessimistic, but I can see both sides here. What is T.Y. doing different that only clicks 1 day in 4, what are the players doing that clicks 1 day in 4? Also in response to C.E.'s comment about a record of w2 d2 l6 would a less famous manager be in trouble? At this point of the season I would say no, after all my west ham are played 6 w 2 d 1 l 3, a comparable set of results but I dont see people calling for Zola's head and thats under a hell of a lot more public scrutiny than Margate.
