Spot on Fred, the management are not to blame for Saturday's performance IMO. As you say this was the same team who performed admirably at Sutton, so why did they perform so badly on Saturday?? Well I feel it doesn't help the players when fans get on the back of them straight away virtually from kick off! Just my opinion but interesting our best performances so far were away from home at Aveley and Sutton!!

The big time, expensive players are selling Margate FC, Terry & Nev et al. down the river.. when players get so much money regardless of performance..and get comfortable, & know they will start next week regardless.. then staleness & poor performance set in.. Where is the motivation coming from to do well for Margate? If these big time expensive players were so good, how come they can't find a team that will pay them and play them closer to their homes?

Even more so when the majority do not even go training!!! How does that make Morris, Smith, Robinson, Wheatley, Cliff, Taylor feel? Does the squad feel like PART of a squad? Do they feel like part of a team?! Does Robinson want to run that extra sprint to help a team MATE out when HIS TEAM mate can't even be bothered to come to training to learn from two of the most experienced managers in the rymans?

I cant comment on the fans at home matches, I have stated plenty of times before that I cant get to matches at the moment, mobility and pain make it impossible, but I still follow the team, always on here and listening to gate radio. I ask for other peoples opinions on what they saw as I dont qualify myself to be a fair judge. I was however unaware that the fans were reacting this way to the team and that IS something I have commented on about on here before.

Worry about your own team, FB. It's not as if those honest, salt-of-the-earth local lads are setting Ryman Div One alight, is it?

As for Margate, it's really all down to a lack of continuity. I can't argue with many of the signings TY has made (though I think we all know Lewis has been a mistake). Nor can I argue with those he has chosen to let go. The problem is chopping and changing game after game. Though sometimes that is enforced.

Was that the reason you left then? ;)

I know chopping and changing doesn't help Coffin Ender, but when he does put out the same team 2 games running they play like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Maybe there is something there that we are all not seeing, something from the stands or behind the scenes, but after listening to Sutton home, and then hearing about Sutton in the replay, I genuinely thought we were turning the corner. Yet Saturday with the same team from Tuesday they play like strangers. I know there is something wrong, but I cant see that changing the management as certain people want will make any difference at all.

What I would say to this debate, is listen to Terry's latest interview, if you haven't already. Terry is as honest as ever and rightly or wrongly is suggesting that he needs to take a look at himself and how he sets up and prepares the team. He is suggesting that perhaps it isn't just the players underperforming and he should take a lot of credit for making that public observation. One thing's for sure, he as hurting after that performance.

To those that say "Terry out" I would say be careful what you wish for.

Think Wellsie's right in all honesty. Have felt for a while now that Yorath's post match interviews / analyses seem to be getting more grim and downbeat every week. He sounds like a broken man and I wouldn't be surprised if he jacked it in before long. Personally, I still think he deserves more time but I really wouldn't be surprised if he decides he's not the man to take us forward.

I truly do give T.Y. great credit as a manager for facing up to Wellsie after a match, no matter what the result and refusing to make excuses for losing and the like. He is brutally honest, whereas a lot of managers would be whining about injuries or refereeing decisions, T.Y. has always said I have faith and confidence in the team that I put out to do the job they need to do. I have never heard Terry blame one of his players for having a bad day, especially not in public, and just for that alone I would be giving my all for Terry as my manager if I was one of his players. I really really hope he doesnt decide to jack it in, becausae as I have said before I cant see any manager getting any better results form such a schizophrenic team. If he does read these boards I for one am proud to say I'm happy to have Terry Yorath and Neville Southall at the helm at Margate.
