Rather quiet on here today, I saw a great game of football yesterday, nine goals, extra time, what more can you ask for, some great goals as well.

Tigers travel to Bigg Utd in the next round.

Today's FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round results:

3 4 Tring Athletic v Stansted

An anorak from another's Forum was at this thriller on Saturday:

Tring Athletic 3 Stansted 4 FA Vase

Admission £6/£4

Programe £1

Tea 50p- in a mug!

I had been to Tring many years ago before I kept hopping records. This meant I really had to go back. When I went to Tring the ground had seen better days but now it looks spick and span. The old wooden stand is still there and there is cover behind the goal. The social club and tea bar looked recently refurbished and the whole set up was very well run. The game matched the surroundings. It was fantastic. At first the visitors were all over Tring, but gradually Tring came into the match and they scored a great goal from a header. Then Stansted went to pieces and the home team scored again and should have had a third. Standsted pulled a goal back just before half time. The second half saw Stansted all over the home team but they were caught on the break and as Tring scored their third, I thought game over. How wrong I was. Stansted replied almost immediately and then equalised from one of the best own goals you'll ever see. I felt sad for the number 2 as he's had a good match. In injury time the visitors were awarded a free kick about 40 yards out, and close to the touchline. The ball was crossed in, the home defence was static, the keeper seemed to see the ball late and the ball flew over his head and into the net. It left the home fans and manager shaking their heads in disbelief. For the neutral though this was a great game.

Today's FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round results:

7 0 Biggleswade United v Codicote

An anorak from another's Forum was at Second Meadow on Saturday, the crowd of 37 begs the question how on earth can Biggleswade sustain three Club's:

Biggleswade United v Codicote 7-0

FA Vase

Adm: £4 inc prog, Att: 37 (h/c)

Codicote were well and truly blown away by an average Biggleswade United team (on current form), who even lost their keeper due to injury after only 7 minutes, later carted off in an ambulance. Having no keeper on the bench winger Luke Lincoln took over in goal, and had very little to do for the rest of the match. Meanwhile replacement Brendan Cowell scored a hat trick (22, 45 & 46) before himself being substituted on 51 minutes. United were three up at half time and doubled that by the 53rd minute, so coasted the rest of the game. Codicote also had centre half Ryan Soloman sent of in the 78th minute for two bookings in two minutes. The final goal coming two minutes from the end.

Biggleswade United now have a smart new stand opposite the old stand, and it’s not your standard Arena stand either so a pleasant change.

Rhodes, Rhodes, Rhodes, how you have the nervew to call people anoraks is beyond me, unless that is your a class above in the 'dirty raincoat brigade', and reference the 37 that was at the Biggleswade game, that is 30 more than you had v Hadley and 35 more than your game v New Bradwell.
