Yellow & Blue Day A Massive Success

On Saturday 12th of September Canvey Island Football Club held its first ever Yellow & Blue Day within Canvey’s Town Centre.

The promotional event was part of the clubs ongoing community partnerships with both Sainsbury’s and The Knightswick Shopping Centre.

People from all ages attended the event to interact with the clubs Supporters and Players. Balloons, Stickers, Sweets and Community passes were distributed to the public along with flyers detailing information on the club.

Both Sainsbury’s and Knightswick staff supported the event by wearing the clubs famous yellow & blue shirts aswell as promoting and selling tickets for a fundraising raffle.

Stuart Murray from Meadow View Walk Canvey Said “ This is a excellent touch by Canvey Island Football club to hold such a colourful and community led event. My son who is 7 has been given a balloon, sticker and sweets, which has really put a smile on his face today. I will certainly be making a visit to the Brockwell Stadium in the near future to support the club”

Club Spokesman Chris Sutton added “ The Yellow & Blue morning has been a great success. It’s the clubs aim from Board level through to supporters for the club to be a key focal point for the local community. Having spoken to a number of people during the event I believe the public are now starting to view the club in more of a community fashion. It would be great to see as many people who attend the event at one of the clubs up and coming home Ryman Premier League matches. Lastly I would like to thank both Sainsbury’s and The Knightswick Shopping Centre for their ongoing support”
