Shaun Pugh - Burnham Ramblers

Recommended Posts

It was a particular pleasure to pick up this week's Non League Paper this weeekend and find that in the category of Step 5 and 6 in the Country for the Groundsman of the Year Awards for 2009, Shaun Pugh of Essex Senior League, Burnham Ramblers FC, was a very creditable Runner Up to Brian Foley of UCL Cogenhoe United. This is a tremendous honour for this outstanding clubman, the only person to win the League's Secretary of the Year Award on two occasions. The Burnham Ramblers ground at Leslie Field is an excellent venue and is always where the Final of the League's Gordon Brasted Trophy is held each Easter . The late Gordon Brasted would have been very proud at this result and that a member of another of his old teams' , the Arsenal's Paul Ashcroft, was recipient of the Premier League title .

Well done Shaun- that is some achievement when you consider the amount of clubs at step 5/6.

Congratulations to Shaun - National recognition to a man who does untold amounts of work just for the love of his local team

Without him BRFC would not be where they are now

Keep it up Mr Pugh and hopefully Mr Kimble and the rest of the Burnham players can provide you with the promotion you deserve this season
