i think we could see this happening - a shame, but three chiefs might have been too many anyway

George Borg

George Borg's extended stay in the US has led Enfield Town to reconsider their plan for him to join Steve Newing and Del Deanus in a coaching capacity. "Del and I were both looking forward to working with George," said Steve. "It would have been a great opportunity to learn from someone of his experience". But with his return delayed, the management team needed to get someone in before the start of the season. Jason Dale has filled that role making a great start to the season with the squad and his coaching credentials are being put to good use.

Jason has already completed Part one of his UEFA 'A' license and will complete part 2 in the summer. A coach at the David Beckham Academy, Jason had a successful non-league career, before injury forced him to move into coaching. He has coached at Chelsea's academy working with a number of household names and has formed a good working relationship with the squad already.

Steve added, "I have spoken with George and he understands it would be difficult to bring him in at this point but he has offered to help the club and I am sure we will making use of his knowledge and experience as the season continues."

Shame as the fun and games in the dugout would have made real entertainment!!!

I rest my case, and thank certain people for their abuse, but looks like I was right!

Sorry Phil, you were not right this time matey. All that has been put on Club Statement is Spot On. I know for a fact that Georgie was really looking forward to being with us, but due to certain circimstances it has not happened this time. Hopefully we may seem him at Goldsdown Road from time to time. :swingingchair: :thumbsup (2):

And I still stand by my replies to uninformed comments.

Surely the management knew George wouldn't make it for the start of the season? I think its a case of the management have the coach they want.A coach they have picked themselves (and he's probably doing an excellent job)and as such do not now want George to fill that role now.Which is fair enough, but i wonder how the board feel about it? plus the management were happy during their interviews for George to have a coaching role (starting after the season).Who knows it may have been part of the reason they got the job? Lets be honest, GB would have been snapped up by a club far higher up the pyramid if he was avaialabe as a coach from the START of the season.
