First half wasnt much to write home about but second half was excellent. Two great goals from Flack, who was prob MOTM. Harsh to single out one player though, the centre mid pair were excellent and i thought Baker had easily his best game for us. Hopefully this will signal the end of our goal drought.

 

Atmos in the second half under the covering was quality, maybe had something to do with the lift in performance? Anyway, great result, lets hope we translate this into league form.

Good to see us scoring 3 goals,poor first half,second half was excellent and dominated all areas of the pitch,best players were flackie and james baker with shinn and dormer bossing the midfield,excellent team performance, hoping now we can build on this frustrating start to this season.

Good to see Sullivan finally find form in second half. His contribution enabled Joe to finally get in good goal scoring positions. Something Joe has so far been unable to do, as he has been too busy trying to create his own goal scoring opportunities. More like this and I can't see anyone beating us.

The first half was "business as usual"...loads of potential to do something but sadly wasted in the final third of the park. The second half however was a different matter...We picked it up and started to look the team we have threatened to look over the past three or four games. Players that could've been accused of being not interested picked up and started to play. We appeared more switched on in the final third of the park and shoed much more urgency in that area of late.

 

Joes third goal is definately a contender for goal of the season!!!

 

Also there was some great use of our subs which, in my opinion, was a contributing factor to the second and third goals.

 

And...another solid performance by our defence...

I felt pretty uninspired at Half Time but the 2nd 45 minutes more than made up for it. Three classy goals and great that our strikers scored them all. That should do the confidence no end of good.

 

Three grand in the back pocket will also be gratefully recieved, I'm sure.

 

So we're in the hat on Monday with a chance to get drawn against one of those monster clubs from the BSS, like Braintree, Bromley, Chelmsford or H&R :-) on Saturday 26th September, with £4.5k up for grabs.

It was great to finally get the kind of result that some of our previous performances have merited.

 

I thought all the players we used made good contributions to the win and again another clean sheet is very welcome. I suppose the Hx penalty miss (was that a foul? It looked nearer the half way line than the penalty area anyway) could be seen as the turning point from their point of view but the truth was that we were far and away the better side and well worthy of the win. I think the second half also proved the point about buying tickets and winning raffles.

 

This should be a tremendous boost to the squad and hopefully we can get a decent home draw in the next round.

The first half didn't really produce much, not many shots on goal, and both teams probably trying to adapt to the pitch, which, for this time of year, was awful!! I think we had more ball posession though throughout the first and second half.

 

It was good to see Flacky and Billy scoring again, and hopefully that will give them their confidence back on scoring again, which will hopefully be carried on to Hastings. Dorms and Shinny dominated midfield again, and I thought we looked quite good at the back still. Baker had his best game for us so far, I think he has definately got the talent, he just needs to build up his fitness considering he missed the whole of pre-season, Sullivan also done well in the second half and could have had a goal. Definately a good team selection by Statham, and some good changes in the second half which were also made!

A really hard working team performance, as the pitch was not so condusive to passing football and quality goals ! Jeez we score 4 goals all season and then gey 3 in one game ! Thank god that pen did not go in, but maybe (just maybe) our luck is begiining to turn.
