How Do We Amend Posts?

After posting I occasionally (well quite often actually) find I have messed up on spelling or grammar and have to alter my post. How do we do this now as I can't find an 'edit' button.

Strangely enough there is an 'edit' button in this Forum but not in the AFCH Forum where I just posted.

 

Another issue:-

 

Why does every word in the thread subject begin with a capital letter - even when I didn't type it that way?

No, Ian I am pretty sure it was "How do we amend posts?". It also happened on my "Two New Signings for the Urchins" post.

 

I personally don't like "for", "and", "to" etc. with a capital letter unless the word begins a sentence.

 

As you rightly say, lots to get right - but you are doing a magnificent job! This is a very polished Forum indeed.

Think i've located the facility to edit posts on the forum i use-but unlike the old forum-every time i edit (and my spelling is useless so i edit quite alot- it throws a big blue box telling the world i have edited the post.

 

Maybe i just want to edit without announcing i have edited.

Is this facility available-or are you condsidering it so we can edit without the blue box appearing

 

or am i just missing something ?

At the moment this is set to appear for all regular users - am still tweaking all the permissions - so this might change.

 

There are hundreds of permissions, and it will take me a while until I can get everything as I wish it.

 

I am trying to balance everything - not easy LOL

I think you may have amended this already-i edited something and did not get a grey box-thanks.

I am thinking of just destroying the computer as I obviously shouldn't be allowed to use them. Anyway I tried to amend a post I made but it wouldnt allow me (SSML thread)when I clicked on the Edit button it just move the screen to the fast reply box????

 

Am I just a computer biff ????

It should open a box where your post is - i.e. inline rather than a new page.

In Firefox it opens inline

In IE it opens a new page, with the full edit box.

 

I assume you are trying to edit within time, so can see an edit button and are clicking on that?

Yes I attempted to do it within time as the button was there. I will have another go this evening at home.
