Dobber - I don't recall there being that much, if any, pre-season hype, certainly not early on until such time as Lee Scott joined which now looks like being in November, unfortunately it looks as if that might be too late for the Club to make a promotion push unless they can better what Royston Town did two seasons ago

Seriously you must be mad thinking Tok or Jokingyton as I have previously seen on here will be thereabouts come the end of the year. From the 1 or 2 games I saw of them last year they were very well organised and had some good experienced and younger players. This year I have seen them once and they look so different from last year they seem to have kept the dead wood and all the goodness seems to be gone, also the manager looks out of his depth think they struggle by the looks of it

TheRock099 - I didn't say that Tokyngton Manor would be thereabouts come the end of April however with Lee Scott in the team from mid November onwards they will at least have a fighting chance, that's what I meant. If Royston Town could go from rock bottom in November to just missing out on promotion in April, as was the case in 2007/2008, with Craig Hammond then Tokyngton can certainly go one better with Lee Scott

In Royston's case, they acquired a great manager and a whole ready made team. That's what turned them around.

and you must agree the Manager wouldnt have a clue how to many someone like Lee Scott he cannot control players currently so he doesnt have much hope when he adds Scott to the mix. The Chairman down there is a decent man but unless he changes the management (one of whom i heard today doesnt speak english) the club have no hope of going forward

TheRock099 - Claudio Ranieri didn't speak any English in his first year or so at Stamford Bridge so I don't see what that has to do with anything, the Bulgarian Coach I think you're referring to is UEFA 'B' qualified and is not only very popular with the players but seems to make himself understood. Horace is right about Royston in that they acquired a great Manager however it was Craig Hammond, following his transfer from Mildenhall Town, who was responsible for their transformation and only the fact that Hoddesdon Town went out to injure him in a game at Lowfield in late March prevented them getting promotion, if Lee Scott stays injury free then it will be a different story.

Craig Hammond was one of the wholesale defection from Buntingford Town with Paul Attfield, leaving Buntingford high and dry with no team, from which they have never recovered, despite the best efforts of Southill Alexander's director of football!

Horace - Paul Attfield left Buntingford Town with his head held sky high, he took the Club as far as it could go as the heirarchy didn't appear interested in progressing further following their huge success under Paul. The sky was the limit for Buntingford with the Youth programme they had firmly in place, reaching the FA Youth Cup 2nd Round proper, but they threw, sorry chucked, it all away through no fault of Paul's as this link will confirm:
