Fa Cup 1St Qualifying Round

Recommended Posts

Well it appears that I can post on here again, so I thought I would start a topic re this weekends FA cup 1st Qrd matches invovling SSML clubs.

Who has the best chance to progress to the next round and where if any are the shocks likely to be found?

I am going to Bedford Town, to see Kingsbury London Tigers play them, I fancy the Tigers to get at least a draw after beating Harlow Town in the pevious round.

Tigerman, As you know I was present at the Harlow Town replay....I'd love to see the Tigers get at least a draw roared on by your goodself. Bedford WILL be lot a stronger than Harlow Town so it'll be a much tougher match... Good Luck anyway and make sure 'tiger feet' is sung. The cold end was very impressed by Edson Cata up front and Zarchenko as well..

I think Aylesbury should beat Erith Town away and Harefield may run an average Maldon Town close. Royston Town may get a draw at Flackwell... Aveley should be Colney but as they say the cup is a great levler so who knows?? And by the way i'm the worst at predicting anything..

I'll miss out on all this FA CUP glory sitting in hospital waiting and waiting and waiting for mrs cold end to give birth!!!!!!!.

Regards

I agree it will be a much tougher tie, but Bedford are not in the greatest of form and the Tigers have gained some Cup exprience already this season, this will be their 4th FA cup match inc the Harlow replay, having beaten Clapton in the exta preliminary round.

Edson Cata and Zarchenko are indeed are dangermen and if they are on form then who knows, we could pull of an upset.

My friend and I will be at the match and will be cheering the Tigers on, 'Really love those Tiger Feet' !

Congrats and hope the birth goes smoothly, is it your first?

Going to Flackwell Heath tomorrow to lend my support to Royston Town.

Despite coming runners up in two cup ties already this season, I have high hopes for a win or at the very least a draw for a home tie tomorrow.

Prediction of 1-3 and David Cain to score first.

Well done Harefiled United on the 'giant killing' of Maldon Town and London Colney at drawing 1-1 against team 3 steps above them... Tigerman what happened to KLT??? Unlucky, I hope you still gave Bedofrshire a blast of tiger feet and enjoyed the day.

According to this report from the another Forum Aylesbury FC were unlucky not to get through at the first time of asking yesterday:

Erith Town 3 Aylesbury 3

FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round.

For once I made the right decision and gave Leamington's usual early exit from the FA Cup a miss and picked a really good cup game.

After a rather scrappy opening both teams settled down and Aylesbury took the lead just before the break but within a minute Erith had equalised. In the second half Erith took the lead but again within a minute the visitors drew level. Aylesbury went 3-2 up with about a quarter hour to go with Craig Henney completing his hat-trick but Erith equalised in the last minute.

As for the ground, well its a good job it was a nice sunny day. Plenty of seats but no cover! A typical sports stadium with running track but at least you could get a fairly decent view from the back of the seats.

Good value for £7 admission including programme.

The Tigers were soundly beaten, 3 early goals ended the contest, and 2 more in the second period, Bedford were the superior side, but the Tigers never gave up and despite the scoreline gave a decent enough account of themselves. The ground at Bedford was nice and the locals were friendly, attendance was just under 300. The home support was very quiet, and the Kingsbury '2' sang for long periods of the match, we were joined by a member of the Tigers staff in the 2nd half and sang louder, that was at 1-5 down!

Horace....I'm not sure if Rhodes has, I would have thought he would have worked out who I was the moment I started posting. Perhaps its the the fact that i had to re register and thus my post count has gone down to single figures.

Horace..."Great Article, Very Informative Newshound"...now that IS a giveaway LOL

I just sent Rhodes a pm and did not put my name, he had no idea who I was, so I had to reply and say it was me!!!

I thought the fact I am doing a blog for Kingbury would be a giveaway.

Tigerman, Nice report about the game... glad you enjoyed the day... back to the league now though, Edson Cata is one of the best forwards i've seen in the SSML this year. He'll score many more this season for you.

A EXTREMLEY TIRED thecoldend...
