What If

Can you explain the analogy between the hypothesis of what could have been - re your football club - and a disease such as leprosy?

As to the latter.. in the 90s, you either c0cked up on the final game, wasn't good enough (runners-up on five occasions) and when you did win it, I believe there were questions re your fiscal portfolio that prevented your promotion.

And if you have discussed this before, you obviously haven't got the nous to think up anything original to discuss. Just a thought.. oh and by the way...not long now. ;)

What a peculiar post, Coup. Thank you for explaining it, but are actually well aware that the club we supported then was not promoted and, in a nutshell, why. I don't think that speculation is actually what a hypothesis is, by the way.

Anyway, had EFC been promoted, I think we (I trust I can say we) would have done very well in the Conference, especially with the team that actually won the Isthmian Premier. I'd go as far as to say that we would probably have had a League club in the borough by now.

hahahaha - coup, showing yourself up again as predicted. so obvious. like taking candy from a baby.

we all know that EFC came up short (although man united in comparison to romford).

the clue is in the title. what if? I am not sure about the league part of it, but an established conference team yes. it would be interesting what the stadium situation would be as well.

I think you need to buy a copy of Roget's Thesaurus...just for future reference.

Oh dear. I think you need to learn what "scientific method" means. As a clue, to ge you started, I'll tell you that a hypothesis is a provisional explanation of a phenomenon. Hypotheses require falsification through testing. If a hypothesis cannot be falsified, it is accepted as a theory.

"What if" EFC had been promoted cannot be falsified, it cannot be tested, and thus it is pure speculation and not a hypothesis.

Not long to what?

Until you buy me a drink.. :drinkies:

No chance as I don't go in the bar before a game and after the game on that day I am away as soon as possible as I have somewhere far more interesting to go!!
