Loosely - So come on, what happened yesterday at the Carlsberg Stadium against 'the mighty' Meltis Corinthians, weren't these the sort of teams you were supposed to wipe the floor with week in week out. Will you be offering your resignation if things continue the way they are as at the end of the day the buck stops with you.

Doesn't come much more off topic than Rhodes does it? Not even the right forum but that never stopped Rhodes from spouting off on whatever interests him the most. F*ck what the title says!

There there Rhodes, take another prozac, you really mustn't get yourself all worked up.

Hows the packing going or have the bailiffs already taken your belongings?

Reckon most of us on the SSML forum had thought all the SA crap would have gone from here when they were denied membership...how wrong could we be with these two vindictive voices still bickering like a couple estranged fish wives. Give it a rest.

Boswell - That's just it, the Club, Loosely in particular, are still bitter that they were unceremoniously denied membership to the SSML and are looking for a scape goat. I feel they would have done much better in the SSML Division 2 than the Bedfordshire County League where I expect they are getting kicked to pieces week in week out partly due to their 'moneybags' reputation, they would have at least been up against footballing sides like themselves such as Aston Clinton and stood a fighting chance of promotion.

Sorry Cliff, you couldn't be further from the truth. Of our 3 defeats, 2 have been deserved after very poor performances. On Saturday we were 3-2 up with 12 minutes remaining . We end up having 2 players sent off & losing 4-3. So far I've been perfectly happy with opponents approach to us. I do however feel strongly about the performance of the referee from Saturday. Not sour grapes, just an honest opinion.

Bringing this thread back to 'The Cold End' I read this on your blog today

"Kingsbury London Tigers won a cracker of a match 5-4 versus Essex Senior League Takeley, Impressive Latvian striker Renars Zarchenko who the cold end saw score versus Harlow in the FA Cup bagged a hat-trick. If the town need another striker at any point this season the cold end recommends Steve and Del take a trip to Silver Jubilee Park to run the rule over Zarchenko. "

I think Steve and Del who I know VERY well from my time at Edgware Town have a good enough striker in Stuart Blackburne who it's nice to see is scoring goals at R1N.

Hands off, Cata & Zarchenko they are vital the Tigers doing well.

Zarchenko is good.... He'll hopefully shoot the Tigers to Wembley glory in the Vase... and your right Stuart is good...He never stops running and knows where the goal is which is always good for a striker..

I'm not trying to tap him up... We'll be banned from transfers like Chelsea.

Tigerman -Nice report on your blog..... Who do you want in the next round??

The draw was arranged beforehand, Tigers have Biggleswade United away, fellow SSML Prem side, they won 7-0 yesterday despite having their keeper sent off after 7 minutes against Codicotte.

I expect a tough/tight match, but dont see any reason why the Tigers can't make the 2nd round proper, as for Wembley we could walk there singing 'tiger feet' all the way LOL

He wasn't sent off, he was carried off. He only got injured because of the insane iterpretation of the offside rule that says that even though a player is obviously offside, the lino doesn't flag until the offside player actually touches the ball! And in this case kicks the opposing goalkeeper in the process!

The interpretation is that the player should be given offside when he moves for the ball (after a part of his body that can play the ball is in an offside position), and anything after can only be punished if it's unsporting behaviour/violent conduct. Or am I misinterpreting the rules myself?

If that was the case here, surely the lino is responsible for this injury, unless he flagged earlier. If the laws are laws, never leave them open to interpretation to those enforcing the things.

Technically, a player in an offside position is not active until he makes contact with the ball and should not be flagged offside until this point. About 80% of assistant referees put the flag up when the player starts moving towards the ball and seems likely to get to it but, although this is extremely sensible, it is wrong in law.

From the FIFA website:

"Offence

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball

touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee,

involved in active play by:

• interfering with play or

• interfering with an opponent or

• gaining an advantage by being in that position"

This hasn't changed in years - it's the interpretation that has. The current one is stupid where a player plays the ball forward over or through the opposition defence while a team-mate is racing through on to the ball, but caught offside. Instead of the commonsense immediate raising of the flag, as the player is clearly intent on chasing the ball, the lino waits until he gets to the ball! Not only does the poor forward have to run for nothing, there is always the danger of an unnecessary collision, as occured at Biggleswade.

unfortunately the unecessary collision led to a suspected broken ankle and no football for 6 weeks.

I'm sorry to hear that - it was clearly avoidable if the lino (who got a number of offsides wrong) had flagged earlier.

Have been on the receiving end of that H, and then got booked for giving the lino a mouth full! Absolute stupid rule - I'm glad that most of the officials in the Sussex are to 'old skool' to changes there ways completly and give the off side as soon as the opposition head towards the ball.
