Under 15s - 6 goals and 6 different scorers

the go between

Recommended Posts

Our under 15's started the new season in the same vein that they finished the last one in with a convincing victory over last years league runners up Folkestone Invicta . The 6-1 victory was achieved by a superb all round team effort with the six goals coming 3 in each half, all from different scorers .

The prolific Shane Mitchell got the ball rolling when bravely getting between defender and keeper to head the ball over the keeper into the net , Connor Lintott added the second on his Margate debut via a deflection, and then a mazy run from Harvey Colston going past 4 defenders before putting in Connor Armstrong to smash home the third. FI then hit back with a well worked goal and at half time they must have thought they were back in it .

The second half was all Margate, their football becoming increasingly assured , Connor Barham headed the forth from a corner and when Tre' Mitford capped a fine debut with a quality finish to a slide rule pass from Ryan Freedman it really was effectively game over . Daniel Gregory- Davis added the sixth with a top corner strike from 15 yards and 2 or 3 other good chances going astray could not detract from a great team performance . Josh Mattless had a reasonably quiet time in the Margate goal but made one unbelieveable save in the first half at full stretch to keep FI at bay.

The squad was Josh Mattless , Connor Barham , Nick Symaka , Daniel Osgood ( Debut ) , Ollie Sharpe , James Olver , Ryan Freedman , Shane Mitchell , Daniel Gregory-Davis , Jamie Gregory-Davis , Connor Lintott ( Debut ) , Tre' Mitford ( Debut ) , Connor Armstrong , Harvey Colston and Captain Alex Miles.

As a very temporary measure I have changed the Youth Link in the menu on the Official Site to point to a new, very basic, page with any reports that I have had so far this season.

The external youth site ( HERE ) is , I believe being prepared for the season and once that is up and running I will change the link back.

I will try to work on a better youth page in the mean time.

Steve
