town v tooting

In my opinion we have a decent squad of players, we are

playing some excellent football, but unfortunately we don't

ever really look like scoring.

Today we totally dominated, always looked comfortable but

hardly had a shot on target.

Dave was excellent when he came on and worried the life out of

Tooting. I think that we just need a player with that little

bit of flair to liven/speed up our attacks. (We miss Hodges).

Must admit I enjoy the football we are playing and feel that

we definately deserve better results than we are getting.

If you want your money back after todays game, you can't

been to many games last season. HOOooooooooooofffff!!!!!!!!!

90 minutes that provided the perfect precis to the season thus far.

With Oates back in, we looked really solid at the back against 11 and against 10. I thought Ash did much better when he came on today - although obviously hope Wiles is OK.

I (unsurprisingly) completely disagree with Mr Smith, we again created more than enough chances to win the game but again failed to convert them.

Flack 2 goals from 7 starts, Bricknell 1 from 5, Baker 0 from 2 and 1 from the whole of Yiga, Sullivan, Shinn, Manuella, Dormer, Knight and Wareham is simply not good enough and these guys have got to shape up in front of goal because they are letting their manager and their supporters down.

If Wareham can't look good against a knackered 10 men when he comes on with 15 to go then I don't think he ever will, although I was surprised we kept the 4-3-3 shape for so long after the sending off. It's normally standard practice to make the pitch big (ie bring on your wingers) against 10 rather than keep things narrow like we did.

Results do count though and ours have been poor so far. I do still believe that we have a decent group and one that's capable of running up a sequence of results once we get going. It's time for our forward players to start delivering.

Its rubbish to start talking about a potential change of manager. Brian is doing a good job and needs at least two years, but we are so wasteful in front of goal. This is the third league match I have watched where we should have come away with all three points. As the game progressed yesterday it became very apparent that we were not going to score. Our best spell was at the end of the first half which had me really looking forward to the 2nd half.....!

I don't understand why Baker played the whole game and why Flackie was taken off. Baker missed a sitter at the end of the first half by taking a needless extra touch. Man of the match for me was Shinn this time, but please Brian get these strikers confident.

Marvin got stronger as the game went on after a dodgy first half and Pond was as lively as ever. Good to see Jamie getting back to form.

Come on you Blues!

I was disapointed yesterday and would agree with jl that we had enough chances to wrap the game up and we should've. I also believe that we have the squad that can deliver and should start delivering soon!!!

Unfortunately with football, you pay's your money and you takes your chance...nothing is a given.

Thought that we should have had 2 wingers to provide balls into the area as the forwards had few chances, I prefer 4-4-2. Their keeper made a couple of decent saves which on another day would have gone in. Otherwise I thought we played well and they seem a decent side so a point is not a bad result but we do need to start winning. I do not agree with all this changing management after a few games we must give Statham a chance.

The Wolf is here.

For one Day only untill the next full moon.

I can't believe what I am reading?

What is wrong with everyone? smell the coffee.

The reality of it is this?

Tooting were poor, in fact, very poor.

You were made to look ok and I mean just ok, because as I said they were poor! I can't belive T&M are second in the table. But make NO MISTAKE, that won't last.

You have drawn many games because the players don't know how to improvise and adapt to different situations.

The leadership should come from the middle of the park where you lack ideas. When they lost a player you should have gone

3 5 2, you would have cut through the heart of their side like a hot knife through butter.

Your strikers need to like each other before they will help each other, and your coaches should work on their confidence not ability. Players will bond together if it comes from the Top. If you win their minds and respect you will turn an average player into a good player and a good player into a great player. You have the sand and cement there in the players BUT not the water.

The dressing room IS the water.

i thought we played well but lack the finishing touches which will come in time,

T&M on form are a good side and a point is ok - also if we beat the teams we have drawn with in the return visit we would have taken 4 points from them and then these draws would be a good thing!

Frustrating game! Positives were we looked solid at the back again and another clean sheet. Negatives being our inability to turn chances and half chances into goals.

I think the 4-3-3 can work but it depends on the the 3 playing in the advance positions. When you play Baker, Flack and Bricknell they all naturally want to play centrally meaning you narrow the play. Can be worked on I suppose but if we do play the formation again I'd prefer to see Yiga/Sullivan/Wareham occupying the wider positions like in pre season.

Still unbeaten at home though!

As is becoming the norm we totally outplayed the opposition, created numerous chances but didn't apply that final touch. A goal will give our strikers some confidence and hopefully open the floodgates. We have the ability in the squad just need a goal.

Only cause for concern is Fiston's desire to "get involved" everytime there is an incident which will result in more red cards if he is not careful

I thought it was another poor performance which did nothing to back up the belief that this is a good team that is going to go places. Against 10 men we created very little clear cut chances in front of goal and once again the lack of passion on the pitch is a massive concern.

Someone earlier mentioned that Brian needs at least two years as manager to produce results, well sorry but he clearly aint going to get that unless things improve. This is a results business and its about getting people through the turnstiles. People don't want 0-0 draws and few to none goals, they want to be entertained and see winners, thats what gets people coming back for more.

I like most think it is far too soon to talk about changing managers but what was he thinking on Sat. It took him half hour of the 2nd half to change things when everyone could see that a goal was not coming. Against 10 men you spread the ball and run the opposition off their feet by using the extra space, he waited until the last 15 mins before realising that. Secondly was Brian the only one in the stadium that didn't see Baker puffing by the 46th minute, why bring off Flack??

One thing that showed the difference between us and teams that are getting results was the fact that on Sat, one man down, away from home Tooting got a corner at the very end and launched it into the box looking for a goal. 2 weeks earlier at home 1 man down against Tonbridge we got a corner, last kick of the match and just kept it in the corner for a point.

I disagree with the criticism of the management.

I thought we played quite well but just couldn't score.

Their keeper and defence were all huge, so playing 2 widemen and knocking crosses in would have been utterly pointless.

We did break them down and create chances, but just couldn't finish them.

That was far better than Monday and it won't be long before that kind of performance is rewarded with a win.

Plenty of time yet.
