An email received from the FA this afternoon

The FA has considered a protest from Cockfosters FC on the playing of a suspended player in the above tie by Tokyngton Manor FC and after receiving submissions from Tokyngton Manor FC admitting that they had unintentionally played Jon Cardy, The FA Vase Committee have decided that Tokyngton Manor FC are guilty of a breach of Competition Rule 15© by playing an ineligible player and in accordance with The FA Vase Committee’s discretionary powers, Tokyngton Manor FC are removed from the Competition and Cockfosters FC reinstated.

It was further decided that there would be no fine imposed as removal from the Competition is deemed sufficient punishment. The prize fund payment of £800 is now awarded to Cockfosters FC.

The Second Round Qualifying will now be Cockfosters v Bucks Student Union (BSU) to be played on Saturday 19 September 2009.

I hear Jon Cardy was man of the match on Saturday, pulling some fantastic saves Rhodes?

Its a shame he was banned and playing while suspended now TMFC will be kicked out of the vase

It was only the Tokyngton Manor FC goalkeeper that kept them in the game on the day, can't say I'm sad for them after the all their antics on and off the pitch, it was a good game until the final whistle but the right team is now through to the next round.

Well, well. Seeing as Dave McArdle had already left the club before this game took place I wonder who was at fault for this? Surely it couldn't have been the person who claims to sleep with the competition rule book under his pillow, could it?

For the record I wasn't involved with the filling in of the team sheet last Saturday, I did however ask Jon Cardy whether he was eligible to play in the game when he arrived at the ground and he said that he was, anyway these are the extracts of the e-mail I wish to highlight which says it all, mistakes unfortunately happen in football particularly at our level of the game:

'and after receiving submissions from Tokyngton Manor FC admitting that they had unintentionally played Jon Cardy'

'It was further decided that there would be no fine imposed as removal from the Competition is deemed sufficient punishment'.

Just admit it Rhodes, you tried to pull a fast one, and it didnt work.

Why would we risk doing that, we could have easily played another goalkeeper equally as good as Jon Cardy but just thought his suspension kicked in after the Cockfosters game and not before, it was a genuine mistake due to the former Secretary leaving us high and dry infact I gather he told the Manager that Cardy was eligible to play when the Manager phoned him before the game

I'm happy to put the matter to rest and wish Cockfosters good luck in the next round of the competition however I bet the likes of Keeps, Loosely, Football Man and Special1 will keep bringing it up like a broken record. It was Special1 who brought the matter to light and informed Cockfosters that an irregularity may have occurred.

You can bet that I will Rhodes, its a popular little number, may make Top of the Pops yet in the long list of your endless misdemeanours.

So, it wasn't Tik Tok who brought it to the FAs attention once the "error" was noticed? You hoped that no-one else would realise?

Thats bad form Rhodes, very poor show.

Loosely - No we didn't bring the error to the FA's attention for the simple reason we hadn't realised as yet that Jon Cardy was ineligible to play in the game, Special1 appeared to be well ahead of us as he contacted Cockfosters on the Monday I believe following the game to bring their attention to a possible irregularity.

You really are the most incorrigible shower Rhodes. "Hadn't realised". Pull the other one.

Rhodes you are a legend, playing ringers, corrupting the tax man by focifying crowd figures, wanting back handers, now not actually coming clean to the FA but saying it was the Special1 so you can continue your game of cowboy and injuns with him, bet this is just the tip of the ice-berg.

Loosely - Like I said the blame has to be put, indirectly, at our former Secretary's door for leaving the Club in the lurch when he did and, as I've been led to believe, telling the Manager that Jon Cardy was elligible to play in the game with Cockfosters

Yes Rhodes, you are very good at "indirectly" placing the blame. You've made a career of it but the game is now up. Losing your club £800 is probably a step too far wouldn't you say?

Tarnishing Tokyngtons reputation, sad, very sad.

Loosely - It's funny you should mention the £800 prize money the Club has forfeited as I think the former Secretary should write out a cheque for that amount made payable to Tokyngton Manor FC. It's further frustrating because we had 'a bye' in the next round against minnows Bucks Students Union and that would have been a further £900 in the bank.

Not rating Bucks Student Union, tut-tut-tut, Mr Rhodes.

Anyway, the great Lee Scott, have seen him play and he is by rights a good footballer, the question is why is he joining Tokynton?

Could it be part of his release conditions, could it be you have informed him you play in front of sell out crowds, could it be you have told him he doesn't have to register with you in order to get a game, maybe you have told him your club encourages 'pole' dancing, or that you can keep him in food for the entire season as you have an abundance of pies left over from your first game, could it be that you told him you play at a Premier League ground, and there's him thinking it's Old Trafford, or Stamford Bridge or could it be that you have said with him in the side you are guarenteed 140 points from your final 15 games therefore promotion is a certainty.

The world and his dog awaits your explanation Rhoadsie with bated breath, just hope you didn't promise him £800 signing on fee though. :diskussion:
