1) Let's not get into Rhodes like suspicions, if proved guilty then we will all find out.

2) It doesn't really matter whether he scored a hat trick or never touched the ball, I believe it is the same penalty.

In relation to the question is it fair: well as Mr Doog asked, if he had a big impact on the game then probably not, a team might well feel aggrieved if ineligible player(s) turn a game, but rules is rules

Yes, it is fair. To award the points to the opposition in such circumstances is to make the huge assumption that they would have won the game if the ineligible player hadn't played and would mean basing the outcome of the game on a hypothetical situation. As the opponents haven't physically won the game, why should they get any points? The situation isn't ideal, but it is fair.

Is there not scope withing the rules to have the game replayed FM?

From the SSMFL handbook:

"6.8 PLAYING AN INELIGIBLE PLAYER

Any Club found to have played an ineligible player in a match shall have any points from that match deducted from its record and have levied upon it a fine in accordance with the Fines Tariff. The Company may vary this decision in respect of the points gained only in circumstances where the ineligibility is due to the failure to obtain an international Transfer Certificate or in the case of where a substitute player who is ineligible participates in a match or is listed on the official team sheet but does not participate in that match.

The Board may also order that such match be replayed on such terms as are decided by the Board which may also levy penalty points against the Club in default."

So, it's up to the league whether the match is replayed or not.

Can't see the league agreeing to a replay - it could mean a fixture nightmare if the player appeared in several matches before it was discovered. Plus doing it now would mean every losing team wanting a replay in the future

Tringarmy - Like Kentish Town you mean, the difference between the two incidents is that they did it intentionally over a long period of time and Tokyngton Manor did it accidentally in one match against Sport London e Benfica.

I disagree with the ruling that the other team doesn't receive any points and I disagree with FootballMan that it is fair.

To award the points to the opposition in such circumstances is a penalty and an incentive for teams not to CHEAT. The huge assumption is that the innocent team would NOT have won the game if the ineligible player hadn't played.

Instead the innocent team don't have the opportunity to win the game fairly unless the league decides to replay it.

If the game was to be replayed then the cost of the replay should also be passed on to the offending team but there doesn't seem to be anything in the ruling regards to that either.

My opinion, the ruling needs changing to prevent teams taking the risk.

While I'm on the subject, why aren't photo cards used in this league?

Special1 - Yes but as pointed out earlier Tokyngton Manor didn't cheat, unlike Kentish Town did last season, it was a genuine mistake

Maybe they should sack the secretary then???? surley the sec should know all his players and if they are suspended????

You have now been caught with your pants around your ankles yet again what goes around comes around!

CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT - I think the league should deduct you the same amount of points as they did to Kentish - fairs fair and all that

What do you think my dear Rhodes
