Grays have just issued this press release

This is to inform you that after 10 years of running the Club the time has come for me to stand down as Chief Executive and pass the reigns over to the new committee who have the acumen and drive to push the club forward and carry on with my aim to achieve League status.

I have, in my time as Chairman, enjoyed the experience immensely and I am extremely proud of what has been achieved during my term here, both on the playing side and the vast improvements made to the ground.

I am retaining my shareholding and will continue to support the team and look forward to seeing you all on match days, the day running of the Club will be taken over by the new regime as from 1st September 2009.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Directors, Staff, Players and Fans for the support you have given me over the years and wish Grays Athletic Football Club all the best in there current league campaign and every success for the future.

Mick Woodward.

Oi ... don't take the Mick (no pun intended) he has only resigned once in the last 24 hours.

Interesting as he is at a game as I type, so either he has had second thoughts (AGAIN) or it hasn't taken him long to be involved somewhere else ...I wonder where that might me !

Zody, Dave's his own man and doesn't need an owner.

In fact I think slavery was abolished some years back.

For the best too, then again it may be merited in certain cases.. smile
