Early season league form

Fitness isn't the be all & end all, but at this stage of the season it is very important. That extra bit of sharpness can make all the differance in a game. Football at this level has changed from when I played & it's changed for the better. If you don't adjust& prepare right you get left behind

Horace - With the right players to feed him in and around the penalty area Jonathan will do the rest, he was never fit at Kentish Town but he's the heaven made target man and doesn't have to be. Colney Heath appear to have an obsession with fitness but it's not the be all and end all.

1 Colney Heath 5 4 1 0 15 3 13
2 Dunstable Town 5 4 1 0 16 7 13
3 Aylesbury 5 4 1 0 10 1 13
4 Broxbourne Borough 6 3 2 1 20 7 11
5 Tring Athletic 5 3 1 1 18 4 10
6 Royston Town 5 3 1 1 12 9 10

Ian Cooper and Phil Jackman are too good a partnership to disturb to fit in someone who clearly isn't matchfit enough for Premier Division football. I like Jon - he has ability, but the other two guys are far better.

Horace - Football is all about opinions and this is a good example, personally I don't think Cooper and Jackman can hold a candle to Jonathan, Colney Heath haven't used him to the best of his ability.

Rhodes... I'm guessing you've not seen Cooper or Jackman play! I've marked Mr Donaghue and can seriously say it was the easiest evening of defending I've ever had (in senior football!)... and I wasn't fit!

Grumper, have you got a new keeper this season? One I saw last year was very poor. (Game I saw was when you lost 2-0 at home to a struggling Brimsdown)

Neutralbob - How can you say that if you have never seen Jonathan Donoghue play, like I said Colney Heath are too obsessed with fitness which doesn't have to be the be all and end all, look at Ledley King for example.

Ref off Ref - I just used Ledley King as a good example, he doesn't train and is unfit but Spurs wheel him out once a week and he never lets them down. I would have Jonathan Donoghue in the team rather than Ian Cooper and Phill Jackman every day of the week.

Hope then for all the 30st plus, beer-swilling, armchair fanatics.

Anyway how good are this Hadley outfit, like Kings Langley of last season, out of Division 2 and sitting pretty at the top, good result at BT Reserves yesterday.

And that is why you are not a manager of a football club... just an unofficial official, internet loving, non rent paying member of the community.
